I would say on 2s maybe 25 mph and 4s maybe 40 or 45 mph. Pretty pathetic.

These cars are not that cheap. $450-$500 for a 45 mph car that does not come with batteries.

the losi audi r8, which granted is bigger, is 1200, doesnt come with batteries, goes 60, but burns through 120 dollar tires every 5 runs.

this kyosho is the car i am looking to buy...is it not a good buy?

You are better off buying a new roller for around $270 shipped from ebay. Everything that comes with the RTR is junk....motor, esc, tires, servo, and radio. Put a Castle MM2 with 2200kv, grp tires, better servo, and better radio. And you be set for around $650 including price of roller.

is a 50c battery good for this car. i only have shorty batteries currently, so i ordered a 50c regular sized battery in hopes that it is enough

i first contacted amain and they tried to sell me a 4s battery that was 165 dollars, but from what i read it uses 2x2s not a single 4s.

i then tried to call kyosho and they said the c rating doesnt matter, but everything i read says that you need to make sure you get a battery with a high enough c rating

The more c rate the better and more powerful. You can run 2 2s in series or 1 4s pack.

I have both the Kyosho and the Losi6, along with the Serpent CobraGT. The Kyosho is a solid vehicle. Stock tires won't last long. Been using a set of no-name eBay road tires for 2 years now. Out the box is around 45mph. Not bad but could be better. But I've stayed with stock setup for almost 3years.
Really can't compare to the Losi6. Yeah the stock tires are beyond bad. Somebody at Losi should have been smacked upside the head for them. They claimed 6-9 runs during testing. I pushed 2 sets to get 5 and 6 runs. Then went with the 1/5 wheel adaptors. Massive improvement. Losi claims to be still testing a new tire, but it's too late. Nearly all owners I know online have gone with the 1/5 wheels.
