Do you Aussie racers think our limits are too low?
I think i would prefer a middle ground between us and the US
ie 50 Oz

1500g is the IFMAR minimum, so i would go with that. This is for 4wd, IFMAR have a 2wd touring car limit of 1400g...must be for FWD kits.

NORRCA is 5min for stock and mod. ROAR i believe has just changed to 5min mod while stock has been 5min for awhile.

howdy guys..how was everyones weekends racing?..

I had a good race day yesterday at TFTR. Taking a race win, and sharing the lead in the 2nd final for the whole race until my packs tired.
in the end 8/10ths decided first place overall for the day between myself and club champ Andrew Abbot. this was the closest I have got to defeating the unbeatable record he has held for some time now, Still I was happy as my second place in the Championship was secured by a mere 5 points.

the car was good, it seemed to handle the changing conditions better than the associated.

there was a new car in the field, the losi xxxs, which looked to be fast, but after having a drive I wasnt that impressed with its handling.

I ran the setup which I have run for months now, with the only change was my shocks to the outer hole on the rear tower.

here goes.
FRONT;
orange spring, 30 wt oil, 4hole piston, outer hole on tower
5 mm ride height, 10mm droop
.5 deg toe out
1 deg camber
standard ackerman pos

REAR;
white spring, 30 wt oil, 4 hole piston, outer hole on tower
5.5mm ride height, 12mm droop
1.5 deg toe in
1 deg camber
#4 camber pos, with short hubs
3deg antisquat

takeoff 27 (w/std inserts)
split top deck
front oneway
30 grams on front bumper

(note this setup works well on low to med traction asphalt, and with minimal changes hooks up in high traction...)

King-G: Sounds like you had a good weekend.

Up here in Sydney we travelled to the ACT for DSI Round 4, not a huge turn out but the racing was good.

I ended up 3rd, the locals scored 1st (Adam Davey) and 2nd (Mark Wallin). In the final i was 2nd with Mark attached to my bumper for the whole race, on the last half lap we both dumped but Mark had enough power left to get past me. Very exciting race though!.

The locals run 9x2's and they have mastered these winds. I ran my Corally 12x1, and i'm very happy with it's performance. With the locals mastering 9's it's hard to keep up with them on the straight with a 12x1.

To gain more experience on this track we will be attending a few club meetings in ACT prior to the Orion Summer Nationals in January.

Will any one from VIC be attending the Summer Nats???

What Besercoe is talking about is the fact that i won a NEO Nitro car yesterday in Canberra, these NEO's a a real piece of work! I will be donating the car to one of my local clubs as a raffle prize!

(Nothing will convince me to re-enter Nitro touring car racing! - not even a free car)

Just kidding guys

I was just trying to get a raise, i commend both DSI for donating three kits, and also Paul for intending to donate a car that i know for a fact he was offered money for. Good to see

what date is the orion summernats?..

if it were the same week. I could do a round trip...

sorry to hear you dumped in that last lap...I had the same dillema, and it may have cost me the round win in teh 2nd final, but I didnt care..as I was buzzin from the intense racing...hehe
