I saw the same thing happen to a GP pack over the weekend at SoCal. Unfortunately it does happen to any given brand battery, but at least this is the first we've seen with the Intellect batteries having the problem.

Remember its just as likely that user error or charging profile could have been set up wrong. If the charge profile have a long lockout on it, and maybe the battery wasn't completely discharged then the battery will explode. I have seen it happen at my track locally twice and both times it was because the battery had more charge then the person thought. Bottom line is unless you really know your charger be more carefull. In my area lots of racers have tried out new chargers lately, and sometimes the instructions are hard to understand because of the translation to english.
