Default S411 rtr or sakura zero s

Hi guys

I've been out from rc for almost 10yrs and now decided to get Involve again.. My lhs suggest me the serpent s411 rtr, but im quite skeptical with their dragon-rc radio, esc & motor...I never seen one in action.. but i know serpent always produce a good product..

My other option is the sakura zero s kit which i can choose the electronics myself, but im clueless about sakura... Is it a good choice over serpent?

Any suggestion?

I also plan to race in club races at my place.

You could also consider the S411 Sport, and add your own electronics. The Serpent Sport is a cheaper version of the TE, but also has split block suspension and lighter driveline parts, so it would make for a very competitive club racer.

I'd give the nod to the Sakura. You get to build it, pick what you want to do with it, and some of the XRay parts fit it (better durability). If you are on a budget, start there. If you can try and find a later model XRay T2 or T3 and go from there.

Go for the Serpent S411Sport. Rasmus just used it at the DHI Cup in Denmark in the superstock class. Great car for that money. You will soon find a report on Serpent HomePage how it was to built and drive comparing to a TE.

Which does your lhs have parts for and which do other racers have? I would go whichever way those 2 answers lead. Personally, i think the 411 is great and you can take it to a full TE or the new Eryx, but it will also cost more as well. If you are looking to keep in the sub $150 range for a kit, you could also look at the Spec R. Keep in mind that you will have a better RC experience with whatever is driven at your track (setup help) and sold at your lhs (parts support).

Both are great cars for the money. I have a sport and love it.. VERY durable amd fast. We also have a quick review of the RTR in RCTuner.. coming in the next issue.

S411 Sport, Sakura Zero S, or S1? Am I missing any other sport kit? Which do you recommend and why? I do not have a LHS.

The S1, its a high performance proper touring car with one of the lowest prices around. Durable, fast, easy to upgrade into the R1 if you desire.
