I have a few engines I like to run. All Novarossi. For the short tight tracks I throw in my Plus.21-4BTTA Tuned and for high end long straights I run the 35 Plus 21 Tuned 9 port. I also really like the 21-5NT as it simply cannot be beat at $200. I get the most use out of my lower port count motors around here but that 9 port is really fun to send down long straights at the bigger races. Ideally I'd go with the 21-5NT as it has great low end and plenty of RPM up top.

Default GT8 Motors

I have the Rally Game which is amazing for the money! Great for all types of tracks. Last weekend I ran the Flash Rally.... I really liked the top end on the motor! I will recommend changing the stock clutch settings to x-hard or hard springs. if your running the 50/50... hard/ soft or x hard /med. My next motor I want to try out is the Kappo Rally or the Bonito.

I'm running a 35plus21 in my cobra gt. seems soggy down low. My home Track has a 200 foot straight. It def comes alive but on the short shoots I'd like more power! Been thinking a off road motor like the btt tuned or the blue head os. Both turn nice rpm so they will sing on the straight. Any thoughts?

The 35plus is faster than the off-road motors you mentioned in the GT. The 35plus should be very strong. What gearing are you using? Also, what pipe & header are you using?

We would recommend 15/19 pinions with 49/45 or 46 spurs. For exhaust, use the 41019 header with the 51004 or 51010 pipe.

If you still want more grunt for the short shoots then we would recommend a ROMA 25. The ROMA is king in the short shoots.

Running 15/18 pinion 50/45 spurs. Had a 41001 header and a 9853 pipe. I think the pipe was hurting me. Left the header and put on a 2096 pipe haven't Tryed it yet.

Apart from the Nova 35 plus what other motors work well on a track with a long straight. Nova preferably but doesn't have to be.

Pleased you seen the funny side just having some fun with ya

Fast yeh, you're as bad as Ric with the mind games

Great racing on Sunday & your $250 engine should did show mine up.
Will definitely had some power there with his Nova 35 plus, but big dollars.

I've actually been very interested in the RB BXR & CXR engines.
I wonder if Joe has any thoughts or Ideas on the above??

Your thoughts??

That was great fun.

I think the bxr is a good motor however it doesn't have the top end of the cxr and I think that the cxr would be better suited to the front straight at Moorebank.

The bxr would be a good motor for the Riff. A mate runs the bxr and with the right pipe header it does come alive.

Both expensive motors.

I have been running a Novarossi 5T for a year now and I really like it. The track I run at has both short straights and a long main straight and I have been impressed with how it can hang with the bigger engines, plus for ~$200 you can't beat the price. Now I have just picked up something with a little more zip, so I can't wait to get it on the track.

I'm planning on getting a N21-5T as well. But i'm wondering how i can fit a Centax on it. Since the first / second spur a pretty far apart. Also the stock flywheel of the Kyosho KE25 is alot thinker. Anyone have any experience fixing a centax type clutch on there Kyosho GT2 ?
