Anything to keep this car light weight and as close to the min weight for 1/12 is fine by me After doing testing in the last couple weeks I found as little as 30gm can add 2/10+ per lap by the end of the race to a 17.5 car.

If its light, and fast, I could care less if its rainbow colored, with rusty pig iron screws

I've always had to add weight to my BMI cars to make them legal...even when I paint up a heavy body. So long as it stays that way light screws shouldn't be an issue

Many of the suspension components are machined delrin. This will keep weight down. Also the battery standoffs are delrin also. If all goes as planned, It will be lighter than any of the strut front ends. Even the Aluminum arm mounts are extremely light.

I think I will need to change the name for the car as Copper will not be its main color anymore. I will come up with something for it that fits.

How about the Carpet Muncher 12

Or for how I drive in traffic....Drive Like No One Else is On the Track 12

Or for how Danny from FLIRCC drives...the Side Swipe 12

Or Bill Fraden...Jam Car 12 (I have seen people stop and wait from him to crash rather than try to pass him)

Or how Duane drives...Destruction Test 12

Or for your favorite thing in the world Jay...Bro'nie 12

If you stay with the snake theme, Cobra 12 or maybe the Diamondback with all the silver parts.

I think its really cool that a manufacturer listens to all this feedback from the racers and that the racers are helping shape the outcome, color and name of the new car. I know the same thing happened during the copperhead design.

Keep up the good work!

How about a name that reflects the look of the chassis.

To me it looks a bit like a delta wing fighter, a capital A or a dart with those swept back bits.

So, BMI Delta would be good, you'd be paying tribute to an early pioneer of 12th racing. If you don't like that, then BMI Dart also works. Both are short and punchy and sound fast.

There's the ability with the dart to do some word play, like: "Be at the pointy end with a Dart!" "With a Dart you're on target for success."

Thanks for all of the feedback guys. You definately got my melon hurting for names. All are great options with the exception of Adrian's carpet muncher.

Thanks again for the suggestions on names and colors.

Seeing as how my TiVo recorded this the other day...the shiny metal reminded me of "Heavy Metal" though I'm not sure that would be a good name for a 1/12th.

Maybe the new metal look could be a play on blade weapons like a Katana, Long Sword, Sabre...something along those lines.

The katana is is the sword used by samurai. I looked it up on redrc and the name was last used by Orion for some cheap brushed motors 6 years ago. I'd say the name is free, not currently being marketed.
