I thought the Powers were a notable improvement however the weather was not typical for the end of May last year therefore the tires were a little hard (36 deg) for the conditions. Spraying soda probably wasn't the best choice either as it can be very inconsistent depending on the humidity. I'd say that the tires themselves were quite good overall but the wheels were a bit on the brittle side. I still run them at the club level and they work just as good as tires $10 more in cost.
yes the rims were very brittle..as for compound..and weather..not a good combination..i do think the solaris tires are a bette choice..but thats my opinion

Per Eric V the spec tire is the Team Powers 34R. Softer compound than last year since it was 36R.

That's really too bad... The issue last year from what I understand was the mostly the rims. Are the rims the same as last year?

I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing they worked on them. I've been running them the last two racedays. Last weekend I had a pretty significant front impact that broke some front suspension parts, and the rims held up fine.

Does NorCal have the tires for sale already?

Entry sent - can't wait for this! Are the tyres premounts? I can only find the 34s as separate tyres, but 36 and 32 in premount. Also is the track at Norcal treated? Just wondering what the grip level is like.

The track is treated with sugar water and the grip level is very good.

Tires are Pre-mounted. Tires are alot better than last year.
The traction at the track gets better & better every time we run on it.
By the time Reedy is up the traction should be awesome.

Where do you get these tires? And why choose a spec tire that is not normally stocked in most hobby shops?
