Try picking up the new TA05 IFS R (same as the 416) style front carriers and knuckles. They should have the clearance. Otherwise for foam the original 05 suspension is awesome and built like a tank!

You should be able to slice the top of the cup off with an xacto and that should give you enough clearance

Stocker yes I've run them, they do help to keep dirt out and the diff stays smooth for longer.

They are highly recommended. They keep dirt out of the diff like you wouldn't believe. One trick that isn't mentioned in the manual is to coat the outdrives with diff grease where inner radius of the seal touches/comes-close. This will keep the seal from sticking to the outdrive and getting ruined...

If you use a spur/pinion combo that puts the final drive ratio in the mid 7's (7.5:1), it should be pretty fun to drive.

It really depends on what you want to do though. If your just bashing, you will want to go as big a pinion you can while keeping motor heat down.

If your racing, it will all depend on how long of a straight and how slow a turns. Of course the idea is still to keep motor heat down. Smaller pinion = less heat & more torque. Bigger pinion = more heat & less torque...

Does anyone use the black (or blue) motor heatsink? Is it value for money or are there better ones like those with a fan? I'll probably run brushless 13.5 and above.

i had tamiya TRF blue heat sink, it performs well it reduce about 5-10 deg out of motor temperature. Are you entering Tamiya championship series? if your are not my suggestion is to buy LRP heat sink with huge fan at the back.........i use that on my TA05R with speed passion 13.5 motor....... using 4.8 Fdr and using nimh 4200, 8 minutes runtime is possible, and i check the motor temp after 7-8 minutes run, 58 deg celcius.........

it's been discontinue before mate, but then tamiya re release TA05-R.....my best guess that TA05 IFS-R will continue TA05 journey
