I think it is to give your suspension some give when/if you hit something. Should help keep from breaking front suspension parts. But my TA05 never broke anyway.

add spacers wherever there's slop. i added two .5mm spacers above the steering belcrank tubes but under the front chassis brace. i also added one .5mm spacer in between the front caster block where the hinge pin meets with the suspension arm.

I have bent the suspension shafts after meeting a wall, and the difference it makes to the ride height can be a couple of millimetres, as well as slightly changing toe-in angles and so on. This can lead to amusing handling characteristics, especially when trying to take chicanes at speed...

I imagine that this would stop the pins from bending in a crash, so the handling would be consistent.

Still, it looks a bit wacky to me, and you have to hit the wall pretty hard to bend the pins enough to notice a difference, and the pins are really cheap / easy to replace.

You can even get the flash titanium ones, which dont appear to be much stronger http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/ite...oduct-id=53870, I wouldnt recommend them, the normal ones are fine, but these ones are like, gold coloured and everything

You know what they say..."Bling is better."

My apologies to LRP.

ya, i have not "run into any problems" (haha pun intended) regarding my hinge pins. no bends in the stockers yet after several face plants with the PVC.

Try hitting solid wall or steel grill at high speed.
Joking. Don't try it.

I found that the normal steel hinge pins is more reliable than the titanium coated. Again if u want bling and lightweight u have to sacrifies.

With the stock '05 you will break the plastic toe blocks before you bend the hingepin... well, so I found out anyway

Only get titanium hingepins if you're really trying to get the weight down, and even then I would get the titanium screw set first.

The trouble is, when you start going down the lightweight route, bar the titanium parts you will find it much easier to break stuff with the carbon l/w parts.

Keep the stock parts as much as you can and lighten the car up with titanium stuff (screws/pins) and a lightweight chassis of some description (Tamiya or 3rd party brand).

I tweaked a rear one the first time out. I was actually pretty surprised...it must be because they're so long.

What is the advantage of a center one way and also a front one way?
