Anyone have a good base setup to offer for their TA05 at the Tamiya track? I need to get a jump testing next week, and any help I can get would be great!

Going for GT2 this year with a Co27 motor. Any tips on damper oil, toe blocks, gearing and motor brushes would be awesome!!! Thanks to anyone who can help. I am kinda scrambling to try and make the TCS race in June.

28mm Electric TC foams might not fit unless you are using the +2mm off set rims...which I am not sure there is such things. I do have 28mm foams from GQ and Parma, but I was not planning to use the "R" for indoor foams so I have not try that...

Thanks. GQ is what I will be running.

The stock 05 suspension is what comes with the base kit?

I have planned to buy the optional light-weight tub for my TA05-R.

Can anybody tell me whether this chassis is conductive as it has carbon fibers - I mean if I use side-by-side cells, will chassis cause a sort of short-circuit?

If yes - how have you made insulation? I don't want to wrap whole battery in a shrink because it disables balancing discharging...

Yes it will cause shorting (seen that happened before...)

Solution (from the exact same user)...use electric tape and taped the bottom of each cell....ugly, but works.

Default Legal GT2 bodies at the Nats

I'm getting conflicting stories about which bodies will be allowed in GT2 at the Nats....

Some of the guys I race with insist only 4 door sedan bodies will be allowed (Audi and Benz).
TCS home page says 4 AND 2 door sedan bodies but no sports car bodies. It doesn't go on to explain or list which is which.
Some posts in this thread say that the 350z, Lexus, Porche and Skyline R34
are legal.

Someone please explain. I'd like to get some bodies ordered so I can get them to my painter.

In the regional races you can run any body except the Subaru Legacy.

Last year in the Nationals:

GT1- any body except Subaru
GT2- No Ferrari or NSX. or Subaru..alot of different to choose from
GT3 - same as GT2

The GT-1 class will be allowed to use any sports car or touring car body as usual.
The GT2 class will be limited to 4 door touring car bodies and 2 door sedan bodies only. Sports car bodies are not allowed. Same TCS Finals rules as 2006 apply.

lifted straight from the TCS Nats race rules...

Very nice - gotta try. I actually soldered wire to screw-heads because I don't want to put anything extra stuff under screw-head.

I think it is good idea to prepare screws with solder when they are not attached in their places to prevent melting plastic parts... ...attaching wire is quick and easy after screws have been tightened.

My version of the fix. Using cone washers and round head screws.

I find it strange how different brands of car with a similar spec do not have this problem?

Maybe as time passes and the new kits get used more they will loose their ability to produce the static electricity...

or maybe it's the carpet causing the problem?
