Finally got the receiver to fit beside the servo... I hope it doesn't glitch. Haven't tested yet but it definitely looks better now! What gearing are you guys using for 23T motors? Thanks!

as for the receiver, it will fit right there but there seems to be some concern with the rubber antenna fitting.... I'm currently using a Futaba receiver. My issue with mounting on top of the servo is center of gravity,, with everything mounted low on the TA05, i was hoping to mount the receiver low as well... thanks! GREAT THREAD!
Dont know about you but my receiver weighs shit all.

All the more reason why these tiny receivers should have no trouble fitting behind the servo.

The only reason I can see for having it ontop the servo is if someone is already having glitching problems.

I think you'll be fine. I noticed that you said you were using a Futaba receiver. I've never had glitches with my stock Futaba receivers. AM, FM or PCM. That combined with the plastic (non conductive) chassis on this car, should leave you glitch free...with the lowest possible center of gravity.

Some people are prefering it to the TRF415 and a lot of the bits will go on there, I think the TA05 is a vision of whats to come from Tamiya in the future to.

I've been running a 415MS all season and I just can't get the thing to steer to my liking. Last weekend someone let me drive there 05 and if I would have tweaked it a bit and had my radio I could have drove circles around my 415. The thing just steers. I think with the proper attention and perfect setup my 415 will always be faster, but from the looks of it the 05 looks easier to setup and race on a weekly basis. Thats why I'm going to an 05.

this is the sort of car i need i do a lot of club stuff promoting EA`s gear , big races are for the sponsered class drivers (which i`m not) but at club level i need a car that goes from track to track & be `sort of on the pace` instead off;; crap or very good;; (more crap with me)

You won't be upset with that move GBall. I was in the same situation. I was driving my 415 and liking it. I came across an offer for a TA05 and took it. I made some small setup changes and now my 415 on hold. I get faster and more consistant lap times with my TA05. I think the TA05 is just easier (more forgiving) to drive (for my level).

I totally agree. BUT... i cant get past the fact that for me, it weighs alot more. we had a GTB setup in my 415 and a stock setup with small electronics in the 05, and the 415 was noticebly lighter, so for me thats the reason for running my 415. I agree the 05 is alot easier to tune tho. it responds awesome, just cant get it fast enough in stock against the T2's etc.

This is my EXACT problem as well... my 415 would be lightning fast at one track and poo at another it would take me a lot of work to get it dialed in. I'm hoping the 05 will allow me to get back to motor work and stop chasing my tail for a setup. I can't promote EA's stuff if my own motors arn't up to par. I rebuild and tune anywhere from 6-12 motors a week for people and that work has been severly suffering while I chase a setup for my 415.
