What are the base carb settings for the X12?

Anybody run one in a NTC3? If so, what header length did you find to be the best lenth for top end power?

Cut 11mm off the stock length....
About needle setting.......there are no stock needle setting for Nova Rossi carb....unlike OS engine or other cheap engine.

the X12 is basically a Nova Rossi NSR12 engine. My carb settings are 4 1/2 out on the top end, 3 1/2 out on the bottom end. Keep in mind, my friend has the same engine and his top end is 5 1/2 out on the top. Needles do differ, but this should get you in the park.

Hi. The X12 is not the same engine as the NSR12. The NSR is microcast piston, and the X12 is not. Also the timing is different. The X12 is better. The base needle settings for the Mugen X12 are 5.5 turns out on the high speed needle, and 3.5 turns out on the low speed needle. Needle settings will vary dramatically depending on the type of fuel you run, weather, and if the engine has any internal modifications. I have found that on the X12 the low end, and spraybar are pretty close from the factory. The high speed needle is set for break in from the factory.

Uriah:

If the crank timing is different, then how come the part number for the NS and the X are the same?

BTW: The modded X12 you did for me ran great.

I know, but they are different. The crankshaft also went through a running change when they changed from standard to turbo. They lightened it, but still the same part #.

x-12 is an awesome motor. it really comes alive with a turbo button in it.

Default air filter

I was wondering what air filters you guys are running on this motor? Im running the one that came with my MTX-3 and its time for a replacement. Any links would be helpful.

Any foam style filter will be fine...RB, RD logics, GQ.....etc.
