GQ tires are making some Foam tires for the F1 class [email protected]. got several sets to try when my F1 arrives next week.

I'm building one up now, to race outdoor on asphalt with rubber tires (as per local rules here). Front ride height issue can be sorted out by shaving 2-3mm off the lower front arm plate, to give you at least 5-6mm. Will post some pics once car is complete. So far I've found the kit quality to be awesome. One running at my local club, very quick outdoor on it's debut run straight out of the box

Hope some red anodised upgrades come out soon..hint hint Kyosho Personally, I love the car and I have vaulted to the top three in F1 at my LHS since the switch. My Plazma F1 was a full 1 to 1.5 seconds faster per lap than my F103 (with motor and ESC the same in both).

I did the conversion to the narrow front end, this chassis handles really good! You will need to drill holes for servo mounts, as well as a third hole in front. I took an old 103 chassis and used it as a template. I don't have a good photo of the front end, will try and get a better view.

If it's directed to me, the front of the Kyosho is already based on the F103 200mm. I was looking for a way to get the narrow F104 front installed so it can follow UF1 rules and race at IIC Vegas in October.

Place the order for the new lower front end piece yesterday. Will be rocking it for the club race next weekend.
I did shave 2mm off the current lower-end arm piece yesterday on a belt sander. Got to mark the front and back in order to make sure you sand it down evenly. It came out pretty good and with the 2mm shave-down, I gained the necessary ride height I had been seeking (4 to 5mm). Oh, when you shave the arm piece, you also need to shave down the front wing piece that bolts to it in order for the modification to work. If you shave it flat on the top side, it will slide in and is a perfect, snug fit. I will be racing mine on the carpet at my LHS this Saturday to test out the modification.

I tested out the modification and it worked great. Since the car's front part of the chassis and wing was not dragging, I was able to turn better and carry more speed overall. I TQ'ed in qualifying and finished second in the 8 minute main which included one 10 second pit stop. I have the new lower arm tree on order and hope to get it on May 19th.

Now that the car's front ride height can be adjusted for more than 3mm with F103 rubber tires, the car's potential will now be unlimited. Can't wait to test my car with the Kyosho foam tires I purchased recently.

I am interested in this chassis. How does this compare to the rest of the competition 3racing/yokomo and tamiya chassis. Potential to compete? Parts fragile? The chassis it self seem so basic.

This chassis is top notch. Everyone that bought one in my area love it. Personally, with the up to dozen F1s that race in my area, I am constantly in the top three finishing-wise in the mains. I have only broken one part on my car (left steering block) since January. The car is very tough and durable. As compared to my Tamiyas (F103 & F104), the car helped to vault me from the middle of the pack to the top (and I am a big Tamiya fan going back to the F102 days {which I still have in good shape}). Don't be afraid to strongly consider this car and with the new lower front arm piece to help with being able to raise the front ride height with rubber tires much better, this "basic" chassis has tons of potential.
