I've tried all of the top 4x4s now and the XB4 is hard to beat. I never noticed the weight. The D413 is a good solid car but I was never able to get it to turn as well as the XB4 and it always felt too aggressive. I set it up a number of ways and even tried the Schelle chassis. I'm playing with the 22-4 2.0 right now but I kept one of my XB4 2016s because I like them so much. The XB4 2016 is race ready right out of the box with the book set up and no after market stuff at all. I never broke anything but a front arm running one every week since they came out. The XRay parts are all of very high quality and their hard parts are the best. No need for Ti turnbuckles or bling.
The xb4 is great out of the box
Get the right tyres for your track, set your oils right and just practice. All down to the driver...

Tried the proteks but they were undersized compared to the stock steel turnbuckles. Tried to re-use the ball cups and the proteks could be spun by hand. Amain ended up giving me a refund on them so i ended up getting lunsfords. 3 packs of 50mm. They measured same as stock on the threads so i was able to reuse the old ball cups. The proteks would probably be fine with new ball cups but my car is practically brand new and didnt feel like spending over 30 bucks just for new ball cups.

steering and A arms also the time it took to do a diff oil change that i wasn't impressed with compared to a xb4.
If you choose a xb4 you won't regret it!

I've had the d413, the 22-4 1.0 and the XB4 16 and the XB4 16 outclasses the other 2 cars in every way. More durably, easier to work on and more race ready out of the box. And the XB$ 16 performs well on any surface.

not to mention the fact that working on the xb4 is faster than any other car. not only did they design the car to perform well, but they designed it to be super easy to work on and perform well. that engineering team is amazing.
i wont even consider another brand.
Seems that xray always changes the car and you will always have a dated car after a year or two, no? As far as parts n such go.
yup i agree. the xb4 comes with everything you need where TLR cars you end up spending a fortune getting things you kind of need.

It's only really the chassis and the rest of the middle of the cars that are different.

No, think of it this way. Yes they do update the car every year but it's just like real cars, they have a yearly model, but sometimes nothing changes, or sometimes it's the same car with just a few small updates. Or sometimes it's an entire redesign.
But that doesn't mean the year old car is outdated, also they continue to support the cars with available parts for even the older models. There is a parts availability search function on their website and they do a fine job of keeping everything in stock.
Lastly, just because a new car comes out doesn't mean you have to get one. But isn't it nice to have the option to buy the updated car once your old car has a couple seasons on it and is worn anyway? That would kind of stink to buy the same car again...
However, if you like to have the latest and greatest all the time, you will spend some money with XRAY, but all that takes is a bit of common sense and self control. Get a new car when it makes sense to, not necessarily when XRAY releases.

XB4 is better in every other way. Way more durable, way easier to work on, way more corner speed. It's a lot more versatile and reliable.
The 22-4 felt like a car that you just hammered on while the XB4 is more like a touring car.
