thank you very much for the info. the only reason i posted this is because used to run a 8 turn since i run on a very large track, and i only lasted 4 minutes. meanwhile other guys running 8 turns and the same packs could last up to 7. so i had to go back to a 10 turn, and i barely last. also since its a 5 minute race i need the extra capicity.

it wasnt quite clear to me, how should i store the packs?

also does this mean that i shouldnt buy anymore NIMH packs, and should just stick to the 2400's, and if so, which ones? thanks!

I strictly use 2400's now. I used to buy the big dollar packs, but I have since purchased some unmatched Sanyo 2400's from a seller on eBay. They consistently have them for $3-$4 per cell! The runtime, capacity etc is just as good as so called matched Team Packs! I was amazed when I first got them, and now months later they are just as good as at first.

In fact there is a dutch auction right now for these cells...

Unfortunately the EPA is doing away with NiCads, so before too long all we are going to have is NiMH cells. All of the older NiCads will still be around, but no new ones are going to be made.

When I am done with my 3000 SMH I discharge them on my T35BL set to discharge to 5.10 volts. .85 per cell. This was told to me by Big Jim on the about board. So I am doing this but as soon as my T35 says that the discharge is done I look at the volts readout on the screen and it shows it hovering around 7.15 - 7.25 volts. Why is this? I guess I need to get a Real time tray or something to that effect.

I wouldnt expect to see any action for another 2 years. Then when they do something... it will be the good ole "Cant make them.... but use them till they choke"

So i wouldnt buy NiMh JUST for this reason.....

I read an article about 6 months ago that stated that the rumor that the EPA is going to place a ban on NiCD's was actually started by companies that deal mainly in the manufacture of NiMh's. A spokesperson from the EPA was quoted in the article as saying they were not persuing nor currently had plans to persue a ban on NiCD's.

Don't get me wrong, but did you notice that this "suposid bann" on NiCads came out right when NiMah started gaining popularity.

I'm not saying anything here... take it your own way, but i don't see Nicads being banned anytime soon.

Look back at when mercury cells were banned, and see how long untill they were phased out... exactly!

Can you really see dumping all OUR Expensive Nicd batteries because some of DUMB Burecrat telling us we have to?
