Use the Spec-R R1 slash Xray diff that is made by Spec-R. It will also be the Ver. 2. There are about $32 from TQ RC Racing.com. That was one of the first things I bought for the car and it helped settle the car down opposed to using the spool. The diff in the R1 and S1 are the same.
Thanks. Does the xray version use the same size of pulley? I mean number of teeth?

The only "upgrade/optional" parts I'm running on my car are; the tamiya ball cups, and some 0.1/0.2/0.3mm shims.
I'm not personally a fan of DCJ's, fair play others like them but I don't.
I'd say the only other things to add to the car would be the flanged bearings.

I just used 5x7x1.2mm shim on each side of the spur. Minus the plastic shim.

Take up the extra slop in the layshaft. You can do it with shims too, although with the flanged bearings you can run it without anything else. The S1 isn't that bad for it, although some people found with the R1 they still needed shims in addition to the flanged bearings.

Setup
Hi, I had a few runs on my R1 on Asphalt with the standard setup with 10.5T SP motor boosted and I find the car handles very well and I've tried the setup by a guy who posted his setup in Petitrc with 2 degree toe in and the car fish tail a bit on the staright. I've also used a set of new Ride tyres that haven't been scuffed yet , does the extra slob of rubber in the middle make the car do this?
