Thanks. Does the xray version use the same size of pulley? I mean number of teeth?

TQ Racing has my Spec-R on hold - any parts I should get while i'm there for the build?

Tamiya Low Friction Ball Cups
Spec-R DCJ set $39.99 - is this necessary?

Yes necessary you will love how the car drives with them. I would recommend the tamiya grooved orings . Makes the shocks silky smooth

Thanks - also added some notes from Kensei's post

- Tamiya Grooved O-Rings
- Tamiya Low Friction Ball Cups
- Spec-R DCJ set $39.99
- Protek R/C Ceramic 5x8x2.5mm Metal Shielded Flanged "Speed" Ball Bearings (2)[PTK-MF85ZZC]
- .2, and .3mm Shims. these need to be 3x5x.2 shims to fit M3 size screws

The only "upgrade/optional" parts I'm running on my car are; the tamiya ball cups, and some 0.1/0.2/0.3mm shims.

I'm not personally a fan of DCJ's, fair play others like them but I don't.

I'd say the only other things to add to the car would be the flanged bearings.

I just used 5x7x1.2mm shim on each side of the spur. Minus the plastic shim.

Take up the extra slop in the layshaft. You can do it with shims too, although with the flanged bearings you can run it without anything else. The S1 isn't that bad for it, although some people found with the R1 they still needed shims in addition to the flanged bearings.

Anyone plan to try/use these? Would these be better than getting the flanged bearings to take out slop from the layshaft?

Bought my Spec-R today and im excited for my build but trying to get all my pieces together.

Will a Protoform P37 body with holes cut for a xray t3/t4 fit a Spec-R?

Also what wheels/tires are recommended for indoor carpet (TQ Racing)?

sorex 28 with hara inserts are the ticket. the sweep real 28s should be ok too. all sedan tires for me are on tamiya rims with hara inserts......

Default Setup

Hi, I had a few runs on my R1 on Asphalt with the standard setup with 10.5T SP motor boosted and I find the car handles very well and I've tried the setup by a guy who posted his setup in Petitrc with 2 degree toe in and the car fish tail a bit on the staright. I've also used a set of new Ride tyres that haven't been scuffed yet , does the extra slob of rubber in the middle make the car do this?
