I cant speak for trinity as i tend to avoid them. always heard more failed sensors or blown up motors from them. but i guess a lot of people use them so its inevitable. I will say that i couldn't really see any difference between the d3.5 and my orca TX in 17.5. overall speed was very simlar on the same esc.
of course, this is a S1 vs a T4. i really doubt i can match a T4 in most aspects with this. maybe an R1prospec.

Hmm, doesn't really say much on their website either. They say 3.0 mm for both the r1 and pro. Please keep us updated on the differences.

I've using a tekin gen2 now and it feels ok but nothing like my D3.5 Mazilla. I don't race at roar sponsored events so they are allowed.
A racing buddy is selling a SP Competition-MMM 175R for dirt cheap; I think I'm gonna get it from him to test it out. He said that you can use a different timing ring to increase the amount of end bell timing that you can add, Sensor unit +10 timing for V3.0 Motor Red Color

To me, the best motor on the market is the Team Powers Plutonium, the motor is fast out of the box, no need for a special rotor or timing board. Turn the the timing all the way up and gear to a 3.7 with a standard fan. With the new high speed fans you can go to a 3.5 in the hot Florida temps without a problem. The motor is great. Good luck!

Continuing on with my build. It's almost done.
A couple of issues with the kit, however. It was missing one flanged bearing. One of the four that are in the steering rack. Whatever... I'll source one to fit in there.
I then got to the servo to steering rack rod. The turnbuckle thread on one side isn't to tolerance. It's too small. Just slides in and out of a ball end cap. Also one of the ball end caps is too big for a ball... that's ok, I bought some Tamiya ones I'll use eventually.
All a little unfortunate. I don't mind too much, it's a $100 kit.
Is it worth contacting Spec-R directly or should I just simply go source my own gear.
I might just buy some good turnbuckles. Anyone recommend stuff that isn't overly expensive?

I buy everything from Spec-R directly, they are great to deal with. I had an order that was late by 2 weeks, they were really proactive in tracking it down and keeping me informed of what was happening. With a time frame set for sending out a replacement if the order was lost. Package arrived the day before the deadline.
