What tooth spur comes with the s1 kit?

Anything you would consider a must upgrade before running?
Just bought an S1 myself, one thing you might want to upgrade is the steering rack. I went with the aluminum one from the R1 kit as I've had issues with the plastic one with the S1.

Also recommend using a Kimborough servo saver.

I don't think I've ever used a servo saver on my on road cars, went 6 years of racing before my hiatus and never broke a servo, but have seen people take a hit and the servo saver get stuck one way or the other

I didn't think I'd need one either until I broke the steering rack and replaced it with the aluminum one. After that I broke 2 servo arms before I replaced them with a Kimborough servo saver. Each time I broke something I didn't think I hit the boards all that hard but apparently I was wrong.

I use a Spektrum 6040 servo in my S1, it's a pretty strong servo so maybe it doesn't give much when I take a hit to the front wheels so something else gives, the rack or the servo arm.

I'd start with at least the servo saver then the rack if it doesn't hold up.

Right on, probably better safe then sorry, it'd be my luck that after talking about it the first thing I'd break is my servo haha.

I'll take a look at the different servo savers out there, not a huge fan of kimborough after the last 4 or 5 spur gears being wonky as all get out.

Im thinking of either ordering this or the Sakura XI sport next week, what upgrades need to be done out of the box to race? Im thinking 5mm aluminum hexes and maybe the suspension mounts? Anything else? (Ill be running 21.5)

From what I've been told and read, there are some things you may wish to upgrade but that nothing is necessary for it to be fast out of the box. That's what made me choose this car over the sakura, seemed like people needed to change more off the bat with the sakura. I'll know more next week when i get more

I race this badboy pretty much box stock. I would go for the roll bar set. I use a ta05 set, but that's because I'm cheap and had it lying around. I also use Tc6 ball cups and ball studs on the inner camber links. Gary at 4S has those. If you end up getting the car I can help you out with setup stuff.

cool, thanks. This is in top of my list for new cars right now, between this, a Mi1 Schumacher, trying to find a used Xray T2 or the new Sakura Xi sport whatever. Hopefully if I order Wednesday I can have it out running on Saturday or Sunday at 4S to practice.

what toe do you guys run on this car with VTA? I have mine setup at 2.0 and I scrub a bit of speed in corners. Is 1.5 an option I ran it for a bit and did not notice much difference. Also you can achieve same toe with different combos. If I get the hinge pins to their innermost position, will it have more corner speed? Also I have an S1 with rear aluminum holders and steering, and servo mount (floating). What other upgrades for making the VTA chassis faster?
