Considering there has never been a 2-time winner of the 1/8 Off-Road worlds it is a safe bet that someone "new" will win it this year.

Now, it may not be an on-road guy this year, but I bet some of your RC heros are talented at On-Road. Masami, Joel Johnson, Pavidis, Matt Francis, Billy Easton, Kinwald, Maifield and a slew of others that are/were very fast at on-road.

It's a wide open race right now, Tessman has probably been the most consistenly fast this year but with limited track knowledge and testing(which I think is a good thing) It's really anybodies game. Kyosho will have a strong showing because the car adapts the best to any track conditions with minimal adjustment. It will be a great race I'm sure.

Testing at the track isnt limited. It has been open for months, and eventhough ifmar supposedly made new rules to avoid problems, there is a warmup in a months time, with multiple practice days also.

It sucks, but it is what it is.

I got my money on Maifield if he doesnt break. I think thats the only thing that will stop him. Tessmen will be the favorite for obvious reasons. I think it will be between those 2.

From what (admittedly not all that much) I have seen, I think noone is faster than Maifield. Including Tessmann. If Maifield doesn't break it's usually in the bag...

RM is the James stewart of RC, Stupid fast but has a hard time keeping it together at his speed. The last 2 worlds has proven all out speed doesn't cut it over an hour race. However, self control and precision driving does.

my money is still on TY.

i would like to see an event like the NEO Race become the official WC Race..No one can spend hugh amount of bucks to get their driver to train there...everyone have equal chances to win..

Looking at the way these races are run, you have to have speed and a TON of good luck to get a good qualifying run in.

Some of the fastest guys in the world barely make the c main sometimes. I allways look forward to seeing what parts everyone is useing. Especially engines and tires.

But the winner of the A main is meaningless to me. You could just pick anyone on the stand during the amain and hand him a trophy skipping the race entirely, it's that close.

Default Yep

I would love to see Maifield win, based on pure driving talent alone he is the best, but you have to be able to finish the race. so many racers focus on qualifying and having the fastest laps but the guys who win the mains are usually the smoothest and most able to keep going towards the end.

I think some underated drivers could upset the applecart at the worlds.

Look at Bloomfeld, and Mc Bride, they drove awesome in their championships. Although Tebo has the most experience and just may get a WC yet. Who knows so many awesome drivers in 1/8th scale racing right now. it's pretty amazing the diversity of talent. and about Ty, damn that kid is smooth. He could do it for sure. and don't forget about Cav, he is one determined racer.

Spending the bucks and using every bit of track time that the rules allow is especially how it should stay. Racing isn't fair or equal, ever. If the Pro teams don't want to put the effort in, then they don't get to win.

This is the IFMAR Worlds, not some weak club race. Big Boy rules.
