I've been running a gear diff with 1000wt oil in 17.5&13.5. I'm now racing with a 4.5 turn motor and wondered if I should a heavier oil?
Thanks in advance
Mark

The kit only comes with the plastic stand for front tensioner.

I seem like I run lighter than most. I usually start with AE 60wt, then go from there. I just run as light as I can go without the car unloading the diff or doing weird things on power. I feel a thicker diff is easier to drive, but usually not as fast on tight technical carpet tracks that I'm used to.

You da man Fred! Thanks for your help at the track!

The kit comes with a plastic one now. The aluminum one is an option part. I run the tensioner but leave it set very loose (all the way up). Just kind of a belt guide for me in 17.5.

Make sure you are using the correct set of adjusters. If memory serves, the kit comes with two sets, one is more offset than the other. You need the set that is most offset. see picture on page 9 of manual for specifics.

What spur gear are you running? I have found that some brands are too wide. Fit the stock spur in and try a test fit.
