It's the breaking I can't abide by.
Have you tried using a narrow inside bearing on the knuckle? this would help pull the joint away from the chub, assuming the bone is long enough to still sit well in the outdrive.

I finally broke a c-hub last night. I think I caught an axle on a flapper.

I didn't have a great night with the car to be honest. I was chasing electronics issues all night (turned out to be a sensor wire) and that kinda put me behind the curve making setup adjustments. The grip was up and I thought the car was worse for it. Pushed a bit in the sections where I needed a lot of steering. I need to spend some time working on the setup in higher traction.
Yes and yes... Pins too short. I had the dog bone fly out. Car sucks more with high grip so far. Much work needed...

My son has been running the Spec-r version 2 cv's for 3 meets now without any problems, they are cheap and have captured pins as well.

I have had no issues with the Tamiya DCJ's in boosted 17.5, which I have been running for sometime now.

BTW,

I asked Ronald's mechanic about using the forward holes on the chassis for the steering and he advised against it. Steering will be too severe was his words. I will stick to the standard position and change the inside ackerman with shims behind the ball studs.

Later,

Calvin.

Default Good car!

I just test drove a fellow racer's brand new BD-7......AWESOME!!!

Easy to drive, almost as fast with his car w/ 17.5 than I am with my own 417X with a 13.5.

I knew the car was good, but I was surprised at how composed and balanced the handling was. Very neutral compared to Tamiya.
I am so tempted to switch right now.

It'll be interesting to put a 13.5 BL, thIS Yok currently has the track record for 17.5 TC which is the average 13.5 pace.

Does anyone know the following bearings sizes?

Belt tensioner
Steering bell cranks
Steering center links

Or part numbers for just the bearings?

Is anyone running the tinitride coated shock shafts?

Hah, it's as if we're all having issues simultaneously. Mine were fine the first day and junk thereafter.
