Has anyone tried to put the shocks upside down to maximize the weight being as low as possible? Do they even fit? (seriously, i just thought of it, haven't checked it out yet)

No because it lowers CG but adds unsprung weight.
Anything attached to the wishbone is 50% unsprung weight so fitting the shocks upside down adds the weight of the shock body, oil, bladder and shock top. vs shock bottom, shock shaft and piston.

However, some of the Serpent guys run the shocks upside down in the wet in the UK.

ok I have had my first run with the DB7 and wow just wow,

it can carry so much corner speed, and is very quick out of a corner, I am having to totally relearn how to drive compared to my old Associated 6.1.

I think it could do with some more entry corner steering but I will try going from 1000 to 2000 wt oil in the diff on the next run I think that will solve it.

I would have been at the very pointy end of the 13.5 a main if I didn't stuff up the start but still worked my way back to 4th. And I still set my fastest time of the night in the final on really worn rubber, there is nothing this car cant do... It really can make an average driver like me look good..

still smiling after last night

and yes the double sided tape held on the fan..

Beth.

Change the shock piston to1.1 mm and use volker carpet basic setup from there

If you can get hold of Ride Reds or Schumacher Greens you will be very close to HPI Silver.

You could ask Noel if he has any to sell. He bought a few Cyclones a while back. The silver silvers are like Hen's teeth. Pro4 original cyclone days

Why are the HPI silvers so popular?

In my experience, they have a dead feel, that makes the car feel very docile
Normally go for the Yokomo springs indoors, but for lower grip asphalt HPI springs are good

What would one use for med/high grip asphalt and what oils? The track temps are between 35degC to high 50's. I would really like to put a BD7 on the podium for the last round of the south African Nationals happening next weekend

Guess it depends on tires, and how the car feels
An alternative to the Silvers could be something like, 450cst, 1.1 pistons, and some combination of Yokomo Blue & or Pink springs
