Also has anyone compared the Exotek Titanium to the Lunsford? Exotek is about half the price...

Spacers on the left are kit plastic spacers. Spacer on the right are what you get if you order new kit axles KYOUM569. 2MM outer spacer. All wheels fit with a 2MM outer spacer.
But remember, a wider front track width will take away steering. You only need to chamfer the corners of the wheel hex for clearance. No big deal. All the cool kids do it.

Thanks oPaulo Yeah I seem to remember this discussion coming up before, I'll go back and read some more of the comments from before too. I was mostly wondering if any of the aftermarket wheels would be similar to the stock KYO.
I also understand the steering aspect, changing the width of the car changes the roll center a bit. Wider is a bit more stable, narrower a bit more steering. I've been running with a 1mm spacer and my JC Inverse wheels fit great. It seems I can go as narrow as .5mm per side without an issue.
BTW, Thanks for the Bulkhead!

Ah I've never had a need for more steering so never thought to go that narrow.
What a guy needs is a counter bore tool with a pilot that fit the bolt hole and knock the wheel hex down to clear the hub.
I looked through all my wheels and I have DE and JC bullets that are thin like a KYO wheel. They specifically call out for a B5 or RB6 though. P# 3362W

The Sweep wheels seem to clear fine without trimming, but are a bit deeper then stock. If I remember right, AKA wheels have a shallow hex pretty close to Kyosho.

Where can I find the fancy battery/chassis brace for running sideways shorty packs?

I tried the battery sideways on the RB6 and hated it, way too much roll mid corner and off jumps, and if the car didn't land squared up of a jump it got very unsettled.... definitely changing back to inline.

Ah this makes sense, I run on medium bite top soil, and occasionally relatively high bite clay mix and have found the sideways battery to settle the car and help it to create the forward bite necessary, otherwise the car likes to wiggle and not settle as easily

Also dumbs down the steering reaction a fair chunk too.
Guess it's all down to driving style and surface, I'll run shorty across in VERY slippery conditions but slightly forward so ESC still between it and motor and then go back to inline ASAP.

Has anyone done front to rear weight balance measurements with sideways vs inline batteries? Let's assume that we'd try to have near even left to right balance I wonder how different they are. Lots of variation I would imagine with different components and also in sideways it seems like you can move a lot more weight towards the rear of the car. I'm currently running my setup inline with ESC and receiver behind servo in between battery. I have the battery moved up against the ESC and receiver and it could be moved back one position on the chassis. I've found it jumps better and I have plenty of forward bite already. Most of the tracks I run on are indoor clay type, OCRC, SDRC, SCVRC, etc I'll post pics later.
