Someone said you can use the TLR spurs and slipper pads as a direct bolt on also. Their Kevlar gears are pretty nice also.

Yep I run the tlr jconcepts silent spurs. Got a 70T on my rb5 stock and soon to be my second rb6. I have a slipper eliminator coming and then I can put the really tiny 50T 60T 48p spur gears for mod TC.

I switched to the full AVID clutch assembly. Good part about the avids, is you can run a 66 (i think that's the one).

Cool, thanks guys. I'll just order up an Avid then since I really am starting from scratch anyway.

It's not a cheap way to go... as you have to buy the kyosho top shaft as well. Kind of a bummer, but it is what it is. Losi spur and pads fit too.

oh Avid doesn't make a clutch assembly just for the RB6? I was just assuming they did. Silly me for assuming things

you need to use their topshaft. On the upside, its alum and not steel. So less rotating mass for 17.5. Personally, I thought the K slipper worked great in its stock form. I dont know what the losi spur and pad feel like, bit I didnt notice any fading with a 10.5 on a medium bite indoor track when i was practicing. But yeah, its much nicer to be able to replace spurs locally. It would be pretty cheap to try the TLR setup and finding spurs would be easy.

The kyosho ones aluminum as well. Only car I knew with a steel was I think the schumacher cougar. I used that garodisc pad with the TLR stuff things nice with it and the WC vented plates on my mod rb6.

oh, I didnt know it was alum. The b4 is steel also. But I would not put the avid system on it. Its expensive and not really needed. I have never used the garo discs, but a lot of people seem to like them.

I wasn't doing it as much for the slipper performance as I was getting the proper gear ratio. IF I run 17.5, it won't be until the fall so I have time to work out the details. I appreciate the suggestions.

B4 top shaft is not steel, if it is, it's the weakest, lightest steel on the planet, unobtanium!

Are you sure? I was in my b4 diff this last weekend. The gear feels pretty heavy. I dont think its alum.

The B4 top shafts are steel. The .1/.2 top shafts are really crappy steel since production moved to Thunder Tiger.

Ae quality going down hill steadily lately. Switching to the rb6 was like a dream come true. My b4 was so clapped out I was replacing parts that were just sloppy and worn after only like 3 months! The b4 is like a toy compared to the Kcar.
Why anybody would sell this car and go back to ae is beyond me...
