T-Shox build
I've just built my first set of the Short T-Shox and found that the number 1 thing that makes the build easier is to put the chamfer on the shock plate. By lightly sanding the top edge at a 45 degree angle it allowed the shock cap to go on much easier and now I have 4 smooth shocks where previously it was impossible to get the shock caps on.
I also followed the advice to open up the 2mm shims with a 3mm arm reamer and reduce them down to 1.7mm. In addition I ran the reamer through the cone washers also.
I drilled the pistons to 1.4mm and despite being extremely careful, at least 2 of the holes pushed material to the outer edge of the piston and had to be lightly sanded to fit in the shock body. I'm sure these holes were even closer to the edge as I used the same care and technique to open up the holes. I would advise extreme caution when doing this and maybe order some additional pistons. It would be nice to see a production part with the different size holes already drilled.
It was not the easiest of builds and I had to remove some swarf from the shock caps and bottom of the shock bodies as well as very gently run a body shell reamer in each of the openings in the bottom of the shock body to smooth off the rough finish.
Once the weather warms up and dries up in the UK I will be doing some tests outdoors on asphalt. I'm starting with 3x1.4mm pistons and 40WT oil with green springs all round.
Just my findings that may help others.

I have now fit the CSO low profile shock towers to my TCXX and attached the T-Shox and they look great!
The damping seems quite light with 40WT AE oil, 3x1.4mm pistons but I will see how the car drives before changing the oil.
I have settled for Blue springs up front and green in the rear as this has a similar feel to my previous setup of HPI pink up front and the new black HPI silver springs in the rear.
I also stood the shocks up 1 hole front and rear to obtain a similar shock angle as before when using the stock shocks.
For fitting, no washers were required at the top, I just used the supplied mounts and swapped out the screws for M3x12 titanium screws.
For the bottom fixing at the rear I used the TCXX top shock mounts drilled out to 3mm and a 1.5mm washer with M3x16 titanium screws . On the bottom fixing at the front I used just the TCXX top shock mount drilled out to 3mm and M3x12 titanium screws. This seemed to give perfectly vertical alignment.
I'm hoping to get some track time soon to see how it handles.
One question I have is regarding the springs. I have the asphalt green and blue which seem quite soft. Are the carpet springs harder or softer? I thought carpet required harder springs than asphalt but earlier posts seem to suggest that the AME carpet springs are softer???

Red - a little softer than the old 2.4's (13.3)
Yellow - similar to 2.5's (14)
Green, slightly softer than the old 2.8's (15.8)
Blue - slightly harder than 2.9 (16.3)
These are not scientifically tested numbers by the way, just from comparison pushing them against each other etc.
I was given numbers for HPI springs (measured) and you'll find that they are softer than is written on them.

Why are the carpet springs softer than the asphalt springs? I thought it was normally the other way round on hi-bite carpet?

If you look at most setups, if the grip is high people tend to run softer springs.

WOW. If Team AME did ..... they would probably be the best .... in the world.
My hearty thanks to Andreas at Team AME. After requesting a replacement set of pistons for the T-Shox I recently received a huge parcel of pistons of all different configurations. What a nice surprise!
Initial testing show the T-Shox to be very consistent and I am very much looking forward to using them in anger in my first race coming up soon.

Hey, that's not the problem I have problem on the boards.

I think it's the white above, if they remove very fine but loses oil, we must wear the white.
