You can buy the dirt tires for the regular WR8 and use them on this one if you'd like for running on dirt or gravel. There saying it'll do 60 on 3s, so I'm thinking about 40 on 2s. There actually almost the exact same size as a super nitro rally from back in the day. I'm pretty sure it's going to be more the 400, the regular WR8 is 489 everywhere so I'm guessing this will be over 500. It's kinda weird that even the nitro is soo expensive cause it's based on the bullet which is only 329 for the nitro, and 379 for the electric...

New chassis all together? Or something else im not aware of, im not an HPI guy, not too familiar with htem.
It's just new paintwork on the HPI WR8 chassis which has been available in Europe for some time with a Fiesta body in both nitro and electric options.

Price is a bit more than the Trophy Buggy Flux RTR.

Gotcha, like i mentioned i have never been an HPI guy. To me they always seemed to overcomplicate the designs, led you to have to remove more than you would think you should have to to work on anything. Doesnt say much considering i love the Revo/Erevo platform (*cough* replace a diff how fast?) lol

This at least looks more like a conventional 1/8 buggy design, which i like

The WR8 is actually based off the Bullet MT/ST chassis, so plenty of spares around. Its about 1/9th scale, similar to the Kyosho DRX.

How is HPI compared to Traxxas when it comes to actually making release dates?

I see on Amain they have the WR8 Flux for that price and date, but no "in stock" date for the Ken Block, i wonder how far behind that the Ken Block will be?

Just curious as to where you got the date from. Tower Hobbies currently has the price set around $752.00, but that price is expected to come down when it's actually in stock. It really bothers me that HPI has taken so long to release this car but hopefully it will be released in the next month or two. At least they seem to be interested in making extra bodies for it (Facebook posts).

Not to direct people away from R/C Tech, but we have a big thread on the WR8 on RC Crawler here: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/non-c...4-hpi-wr8.html

And as it was mentioned, the WR8 is similar in size to Kyosho's DRX. The DRX (being a little larger) is closer to a 1/7th scale. Of course, there aren't too many RC cars that are spot-on with scale. The DRX VE is a great rival to the WR8. It's a very solid chassis with lots of factory upgrades and also has a good selection of bodies to choose from: Lancer, Fiesta, C4, Stratos, Impreza, and soon the Demon. There is also a Swedish company that has been making custom rally bodies for the DRX platform. Again, we have a big thread on the DRX chassis on RC Crawler here: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/non-c...5Ds-drx-s.html

$479 8-7-12 as per Amain's website. They do not have a date on the Ken Block edition though, just the WR8 Flux RTR. But they have them both listed at the same price.

£400 and October 17th here in the UK. Make your own guesses in America.

Regular WR8 Flux will be the same price and due August 2nd.

I tried searching "hpi wr8 flux" on Amain's site with no luck, until I searched the kit numbers. Guess they're not in the search system yet? I really hope that's the sale price though. The $752 from Tower must be the MSRP or whatever.

I guess we'll see what happens in a day.

Same here - but it's down the bottom of their home page under "Upcoming Products". Tower did originally list theirs for $479- as well, but then it went up to $752- the next day.
