3 Racing Sakura D3 CS Drift
#1291
I have had my D3 since it first got released...I'm only on my 2nd belt...and I try to practice as much as I can. I use the 3racing belt....running an 8.5T motor, so it's plenty powerful...and I use 3racing alumium 13T pulley and Zero S Front One Way without the spacer.
Also, check to make sure nothing is binding and that both sides are equally tensioned by the position of the bearing adaptors and not tweaked

Looks like I'm the only one here having the problem,I'll check again when I get my belts arrived from rcmart.
Pickle,I'm using the d3 one way.

are you using brake on the ESC? or crawler mode? try turning the brake force down and no initial braking. you don't need brakes anyway

Maybe it's partially come out and is creating drag which can explain chewing through belts

I'd agree with pickled and make sure you have some washers under the rear pulley mount. If you do, you can also had some washers under the center tensioner to raise it a bit. I did this recently and it helped quite a bit

Got my HPI T-Drifts today and mounted them to my Topline +8mm wheels.
Made the car alot more consistent and I found it alot easier to get the slow drifts going.
I think now my problem is lack of motor RPM, its a very fine line at the moment. The 13.5T should fix that.

Woo finally caught up with this decade. Got myself a sensored brushless setup!! (coming from a silver can brushed motor)
The goodies I got in the mail were a 120a esc from hobbyking (exact copy of the hobbywing 120a) and then from hobbypartz: tacon 3 pole 8.5t motor, solar d770 servo, and a 7.2v UBEC.
The servo is insane! Especially with the 7.2 UBEC.
And the brushless setup is perfect, very fast, very smooth, just what I wanted.
Now I just have to pick up a sensored motor for the SCT, sensorless stuff isn't fun.
Highly recommended for a cheap brushless setup. Paid $35 for the esc and $35 for the motor.
Pictures (yes I know the wiring is messy! I just wanted to go drift haha):
