What bodies are being used?

Has anyone tried to stick vta tyres under a chassis?

That's a Blitz TC body for the HPI RS4 Mini. Spice makes two TC bods that look as if they'd fit without hitting the front tower as they have higher hoods.

Not familiar with your term "vta" tires. Explain...

We run a Vintage Trans Am series here in oz and it has allowance for australian specials. Thus I was thinking of the HPIvta tires in stalled on the m chassis with an australian related body.

But I have read that a 540motor will not fit in the chassis. Am I correct?

You are correct. A 540 will NOT fit. It won't even enter the motor cage. I'm curious though on whether the TA05 V1 motor mounts will fit this chassis being the transmission is based on it.

Default Should I tune it for TC or Drifting?

Just finished my Nissan Silvia S15 body. I forgot how much detail Tamiya puts into their bodies and decals.

that right there is why it doesn't sell. i haven't seen one in person.
i'd like to know how well it does against abc genetic's, atomic's and the ofna mini 4wds, those cars are beasts and all use standard 540's.

i drooled over it when i first saw pics, but then i realized that it won't take 540's and i quickly forgot about it.

Well Kaiser, I don't know how fast the other brands are in comparison, but with my setup, the car's pretty damn fast upon initial testing today. Stable at speed and I've yet to actually do any suspension tuning or tire tuning. I'm still running the M Grip tires. They've gotten worn in already from parking lot testing. I don't have any other cars to compare against, but the thing likes powering out of turns. Run time on just a 2000mah lipo was roughly 10-20mins. I even got it airborne over a manhole cover. No damage what so ever. Should make a decent drifter too.

I'm using stock right now as all I'm doing is parkinglot bashing.
Do you have one? What's your setup, gearing, motor, esc, batts?

I tried the switch to 48P and ended up with spurs way too small to meet up with any pinions.
Ended up running the stock gearing which isnt too bad. Motor runs a little warm, but everything else is cool.
I 'm using a Blitz TC body but the hood was way too low, so I had to improvise. My S15 body fits beautifully though.
Keep us posted.

Yea Mark, it's a really great iit. To be a TRF model, it could've come with more aluminum upgrades like the arms and knuckles, but those are minor losses. Hopefully Tamiya starts releasing and distributing more parts instead of having to order direct from them.

Just a bored night and an old Varad LED kit. Matches the car perfectly too.
