Hi,
I am assembling my first Yokomo car and it is a BD, very nice car!
After assembling the steering rack (new revised type) as explained in the instruction sheet, the bellcrank plate has a lot of slop were the flanged bearing are located, not radial but axial slop: is it normal? And when steering, the plate works upwards against the bearing flanges, downwards directly against the bellcrank lever. Again, is it ok?
If so, I thought of locking the bearing outer race to the plate by glueing, is it recommendable? Any other idea or solution?
Then I am looking for a list of Rayspeed spring colour/rates: is it available somewere?
Many thanks for your help,
Eddi.

EddiRossi,
I added some washer on both side of the plate, and put the bearing on top the washer.

Use some CA glue to reduce the inner diameter of the steering plate, one or two cloths will do, let it dry. When you push the ball bearing in, it should be a tight fit.

I use Duratrax teflon bearings in the rack. Then take a GS Racing shim (not sure on size) and put in between the flange lip and the rack. Under the bearing, I put 1 brass motor shim and a teflon motor shim. This raised the carbon fiber off the aluminium and gives smooth action. After that, put a tiny amount of thread lock on the steel screw and screw it in to the aluminium arm. Don't fully tighten down. The steering should be very smooth and slop free. Also, make sure you have the shims on the post to keep them from moving up and down under the upper deck.

Thank you agower, aoizip, caveman and ChadCapece for your answers!
Those will help me a lot.
Can you explain me which is the difference in car handling between 0offset and 1offset steering block? This is the first time I see this tuning possibility in a R/C car...
In the setup sheet what is "suspension mount skid angle" ? And what means (e.g.) "-0.5" on front ?
Thanks,
Eddi.

the skid angle is the angle of the suspension blocks at the FRONT or REAR of the car, you change it by having differnt spacers under the front & rear mounts for either the front or rear of the car, -0.5 will mean that the front mount on the front of the car is 0.5mm lower than the rear mount on the front of the car.
hoep that makes sence?

Yes agower, it does make sense to me!
I would call it, in other words, "anti-dive".
Thanks, maybe you can help me also about offset steering blocks?

The inline blocks will give more steering entering the corner. Making the car more aggressive. We run them 99% of the time here in the UK. Definitely reccomend you get some.
