Why steel hingepins/shock shafts?
Why new topdeck but no ATC posts included?
How come the shock bodies are now plastic?
Plastic belt tensioner?
Plastic spring pirches?
Plastic servo mounts?

With all the cost cutting on the car...you'd think it would be like $299 max.

Geez plastic shock bodies? My 200$ black edition cyclone even had the alum ones.

Yeah jag88 ..........We had fun in mod today, I had a broken power wire from the speedo so I didn't have anything for Brett, I found it after the main.

Russ, lucky for Brent ! I was a little burned out plus I thought I'd save some tires for next week.
Lets hope for good weather !

Its ridiculous!!! THe TC should be around $250 tops! Tamiya Ta05R/IFS kits come with more bling and its barely $250....go figure

These parts were used to cut the cost of the kit without sacrificing performance. It seems that with all these lower priced parts that the TC kit would come in closer to the $300 mark.

I plan on simply upgrading my current Cyclone with the new improved parts included on the TC. ie - Pro-Spec Diff, A-Arms and perhaps the ATC Topdeck/stand-offs when we go inside on high traction carpet.

i know it! The cyclone S is $119 new and its all plastic, i guess some aluminum bullheads, pro spec diff, the new front diff, and some other little bits triple the price of the kit.

Haha i just found the new TC also uses plastic bearing holders...cmon guys, is there anywhere else you coula cheaped out? Im surprised the bulkheads are alloy

Jeremy Felles has gone over the concerns about the TC kit being "too expensive" for what you get. In reality, all those things you listed are pretty much glitz parts. None of them really have any really huge performance increases to write home about.

What Hot bodies did is improve the suspension arm design, develope an entirely new differential that eliminates the diff screw problem, new improved shock absorbers (which still have aluminum bodies by the way), new ATC capable chassis with more tuning options for the future, improved shock towers and upper bulkheads as well.

Another thing to keep in mind is manufacturing and development costs are always on the rise. The great thing is HB still delivered a top quality car that is an improvement over the WCE, and brought it to the general public at a lower cost.

Jeremy went into a little more detail further back in the thread. Just do a search and he explains it all

Guys if you think that the TA05R/IFS is better value for money you should go and buy one!

You are kidding yourself if you are comparing the Cyclone TC to it.

If you want to compare cars why not compare the price of the Cyclone TC with real cars like the Corally PHI, TRF 416 (Xray 008, if it floats your boat :P).

The TC5 is cheaper but associated seem to throw their weight around to get cheaper kits out, but i also dont see as many positive comments about it as other top of the line cars.

You are kidding yourself if you don't think the TC5 is as good as any other car on the market. It really depends on who shows up on the day to race which car.
You show me someone that doesn't like a particular car and I will show you 10 that do.

I dint say the TC5 isnt a good car. There are alot of good cars around, although personally i wouldnt rank it amonst the top cars.

Personally at top world class events i dont see many TC5s, although they seem to be quite good on carpet.
