So i connected the the pinion again and figured if i check the mesh manual all the way around i would feel it get tighter in some spots if theres a bend so i did that and no bend....when i turn the car on and apply throttle slowly its fine but when i give it enough throttle for the boost to kick in thats when it grinds the spur right up !....sooo confused lol

Motor mount, motor screws, spur and layshaft are all secure, without slop or wobble?
Which car do you have it in? You could try the motor in one of your other cars if you want to be sure it's the motor.
when you put the motor back together, maybe you didn't snug up the screws evenly? It could affect the alignment of the endbell and the bearing. or maybe one of the bearings isn't seated fully all the way around.
a piece of grit between your motor and the mount?

Are you sure the axle is spinning free? Sounds like the motor wants to wind up and if the spur is taking a beating, the axle may not be coming up to speed and there fore stripping the teeth off the spur. Bad motor/rotor shouldn't ruin a spur. Sounds like axle isn't able to come up to speed. Hard to diagnose without seeing it first hand.

If its in a Touring Car you probably blew out one of your idler bearings.

From one Awesomatix guy to another , is one of two likely things. The D3.5 has a very soft and weak pinion side end bell . I would take it off and check it on it on a flat board . If it is bent ,it could rock in the motor mount whether or not it's mounted tight. But I'm thinking it's one of the two 10x6 bearings on the spur gear shaft are bad .

Hey guys, having some issues with trying to figure out gearing and rollout on the 13.5 D3.5 in WGT. I started out @ 3.25 rollout and it was a dog in the straight. I ended up going up to 3.41 and it got slightly faster but not very much. timing is at 15 degree's and my motor temps never got above 130 degrees. Am I going in the wrong direction, or am I just missing something else. Here is what I am running:
1S 13.5 WGT
Tekin RS
Carpet Track 80 x 40
motor timing 15 degree's
rollout is at 3.41 (42 pinion/80 spur/ 2.07 tire)
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

So i took the motor out and its definately the motor thats the problem....For fun i pulled a brand new 6.5 turn duo 3.5 outta the box and snapped my fingers on the pinion shaft and it spun freely...i then did the same to the 17.5 and the shaft just budged a bit.....so i took it apart and rolled the rotor down my set up board and it rolled down lop sided....is this the problem?...not much of a motor guy usually just wire them up and run! lol...thanks.

Remember if your car is not efficient on the corners it's going to feel like a dog no mater what motor or gearing you use.
What car are you running?

Any body know the part numbers for the various replacement rotors for the 17.5 turn .....all I can find is tep1112c and not even sure if its for the 17.5

TEP1101 is the 12.3 broad power. This is the stock rotor of the D3.5
The TEP1112c is the 12.5 HT certified 5% rotor. These all can be used in the 17.5. They are made for the stock motors so they remain roar legal.
These are all on the trinity website.
