OK, I tried a 3x8mm set screw for the side spring and the roll damper hits at exactly the same time as the shock bottoms out, so that works perfectly.

I wonder if this is only happening on the bench not on the track as nobody seems to be commenting about it

My buddy and I noticed this too when we built ours. We both agreed that it really only looks like it does that at full throw on the bench. It doesn't look like it would go that far over when running on the track. Of course anything is possible if you get tangled with another car.

Hi F1 drivers! We are expecting the new tires (1031 and 1032) next week. Here are some links to reserve your tires:

Nevermind found stock at tqrcracing of the motor mount. Paid more than I wanted to but I really don't believe the stock plastic motor mount is worth running at all.

First time getting into DD F1, what gearing should I use with a 17.5T (turbo on) at a track with approx. 25m straight and a few tight turns? thx.

I would start with the stock 93 gear and a 30 Pinion, maybe its going to be slow in the long strait. Check motor temp and gear up.

Enjoy.

A Tamiya Version II finally did well in our race last Saturday, finishing 4th out of 26 cars. And what is strange is the link guys (Exotek and V2) are trying running without side springs and are loving it.

When the grip level is high, that can work very well

One of the great things about the VII, so much adjustment compared to old t-bar design

I always thought going the opposite way would work better. Removing the damper and leaving the springs. I would imagine you need that spring back to centre particularly on corner exit.

I have also found I simply can't get the exotek as smooth/soft in the rear as the v2 even though the v2 springs are stiffer. May have to do with the associated links being a tighter fit than the tamiya ones. Credit to tamiya for getting the v2 spot on.

VII springs are mounted inboard compared to Exo, so they are softer with same spring rate

Fair point. That aside I don't think the exotek is as smooth as the v2. Part of it was the damper (switched to the tamiya roll damper on my exotek). But it still isn't as good.

I am using a 93/29 ratio with Teampowers 17.5T (200 mm foams) at my local track (58 m straight part) and yes is slow in that part, thinking in adding more punch and/or turbo.

Would the F104 PRO ver.II be able to keep up with the F103's or the F104W(GP)'s?
Cause here in my country we have a mixed field of cars at the race and i don't want to spend money on a car that's only capable of following while it's not able to compete for the first place.
I've been reading a lot of good comments about this car and i'm one click away of buying the car but i just want to make sure it is capable of competing against the F103's etc.
