The fans are sucking the hot air off the motor then.. I have two 25mm by 25mm fans glued together which just sit on my chassis blowing air onto the endbell, i took them out of the car at the weekend, was freezing and i wasnt sure about using them outside just incase I got mine from rcdirect at £5 each i think, from much more they were. Couldnt find computer fans small enough for what i wanted.

ahh yes, they were sucking.... switched them over now.

Deffiently pump out a lot of air for such a small fan. checked the specs, and at 5v, they only draw 0.08a, not bad. I have no idea how much they'll draw at 7.2v (maybe J-P can help here), but i would guess not a lot more.

Regards
Ed

Not too worry about that, think it was my fault... I'm a little obbsessive when it comes to carbon on my car, all edges HAVE to be rounded....
Needed to take the fans off to get at it properly, put them back on the wrong way...

Guys, I've removed the image of the Cool Can Fans for now.... Gonna repost with a new one, with the fans the CORRECT way up tomorrow

Have to say, had the first run with them this evening, and they are just awesome, motor came off soooo cool after each run. I think the only problem I had (bar one I am in discussion with Malcolm about, nothing major), was the looks I was getting with the fans still going on the scrutienering table (sp?)

Gonna be so useful outside in the heat... really really pleased.

Later

hey tryhard,

glad you liked it, when we were testing them at carpet wars and dms, you do get some funny looks when you put the car on the scrutinering table and the fans are still going

you can can wire it into the battery lines (as I do) but it will run all the time, or on to the motor so it only works when throttle applied, or use the plug supplied and put into the reciever if you have a spare channel.

any one else who has used them let us know how you got on with it

just put an order in for a load more fans as these ones have nearly all gone already, hurry up and get them for the sunmmer

J-P, don't suppose you have any pics of the one for the tc3 do you?

my dad got a reedy fan recently for this tc3 and to be honest...it sucked....so he is looking for a new fan kit thingy.

thanks

We have used fans on our cars for years. They are a must with our hot weather.

I have fitted dozens on customer cars, Yokes, TC3 and now on the TC4 too.

I have some pics on my office computer and will post when I get back to the office Monday.

Hi guys,

run the fans at rather warm west london today, and run a single fan for the new xray (thanks for running that david) and it worked real good

fans are really starting to get popular, with the warm summer coming up (fingers crossed)
