HSP flying fish

HEY ALL
so considering getting into some rc drifting as events keep popping up around here, i was looking into picking up this cheap starter car and it seems as though nobody really has anything to say about it. Just wondering what everyone's opinion is on this car and yes i know its not the best thing out there but for starting out, it looks good to me.

I've had a look at one, steering was quite sloppy. I'm not sure how accurate it needs to be for drifting...

To be honest the HSP stuff is absolute DOGS BALLS, cheap crap, I mean even normal cheap crap can kinda doss itself up a bit, but the HSP stuff is just absolute garbage, there are a out of cheap cars out there that are still decent rigs, or even go second hand, but the HSP stuff will just end up being a dust gatherer in your closet. They are not built well and you will struggle with it straight out of the box.

Consider a Tamiya TT01 Drift Spec.

This one is Ready-to-Run and is on sale at Active Powersports for $239.00. It's a better car with easily available parts and hop-up options. More people will be familiar with it should something break or you have setup questions.

Go to Nitro RX and look at the Exceed Drift Cars. They have a decent
price and will be much better than the junk you are looking at. Regards

You do know that Exceed is a re-badged HSP. Exceed, Himoto, HSP, BSD, LRP, Maverick and another 10 other names are all OEM of the same car design.

@OP, if the HSP is the best you can afford, then buy it and have fun, its not a bad car by design, it just uses bad plastics in certain places. As you break things, replace them with better quality parts, a good LHS will be able to get you in parts for that car that use better plastics than the original. The ESC will prolly die too in the first month or so, unless your lucky and get a good one.

If you can afford better, get better, i have a couple of LRP chassis of the same design as theflying fish, and i have not broken a single thing and thats running in 10.5T on road and a 8.5T drift setup.

thanks for the advice, sadly as of right now this is the best choice with money not coming in as fast as i would want to haha
