Each one runs about the same, but I'd take the Ballistic or the Boss because of their modular construction and the non-integrated sensor cable. The permanently attached cable on the SS will eventually leave you with a useless motor if it breaks, and can't be adjusted to the proper length without a lot of effort.

Hey Pauly - not sure on the motor you mentioned...but do you have the timing on the motor cranked to max? When running the Novak 21.5, or the Assoc/Reedy 21.5 I notice a huge rpm change in the last little bit of timing...so be careful there... If full timing isn't used GEAR UP a bunch (4-5 teeth or more) run a couple minutes, check the temp and lap times...work from there. (Some TC's you just can't hardly get enough gear - I don't know HOW those True 25.5 VTA guys do it!!) Oh yea I do - they run smaller tighter tracks!!! LOL

According to the us/vta rules numbers have to be on the doors hood and trunk lid correct?. I have noticed on the us/vta paint thread that some bodys that the racers have painted do not have numbers on the doors. So is the number rule a iron clad rule or is it by track to track rules?

Question about Novak Boss 25.5 motor.
I was servicing mine this weekend. I opened it up and took out the front bearing and cleaned it and re-oiled it. I couldn't get the rear one out so I just oiled it. The rotor had 1 shim on the back and 2 on the front when I removed it. I made sure I got it back the same. When testing it by running it with the ESC and no pinion it seemed to be pretty loud all by itself. It had kind of a "card in the spokes" sound. Could I have done something wrong re-assembling it? Any ideas?
