Guys, quick question about tires and wheels for a 190mm tc.
I am looking at the HPI '70 Boss 302 body.
http://www.hpiracing.com/products/en/17546/
I can't figure out if I need 31mm tires in the back and 26mm in the front. I BELIEVE that is the case, but I am not sure. Also, if I run 26mm in front, what wheels do I use. I thought I would need 6mm offset, but it does not appear that 26mm 6mm offset wheels are available.
What wheel/tire package should I use?

First of all don't worry about adding any offset to the front wheels. All of the HPI VTA bodies (including the Boss 302 Mustang) are designed to be used with 26mm wide 0mm offset front wheels and 31mm wide 6mm offset rear wheels.
The tires are very easy. For VTA racing you must use HPI #4793 Vintage Racing Tire 26mm D-Compound for the front pair and HPI #4797 Vintage Racing Tire 31mm D-Compound for the rear pair.
When it comes to VTA wheels (or rims) you have a variety of colors and styles to pick from. There are 14 styles of front rims and 14 rear rims.

VTA is really starting to get popular in southern California. One of the biggest R/C Pro Shops in the Los Angeles area, TQ RC Racing, has made a page dedicated only to USVTA parts. Click on the pic below to take a look at their "VTA Shop"...

... His motor checker showed my S.P. 25.5 motor had about 1223 Kv. We tested a Novak Ballistic 25.5 motor in the BMC-01 Checker and it showed the Ballistic had about 1542 Kv. The Ballistic motor has +319 Kv advantage over the S.P. 25.5 motor.

You touch on the reason why USVTA rules call out only 1 manufacturer of motors, Novak. If you ever compare two 25.5 turn brushless motors made by two different manufacturers, you will find that each motor has a different power output. Like in your example the Novak Ballistic 25.5 has approx. 1550 Kv while the Speed Passion 25.5 has approx. 1220 Kv. I also know that the Trinity D3 25.5 motor has approx. 1800 Kv. So you can imagine that if the USVTA motor list were to be open to any make 25.5 turn motor, the most competitive VTA drivers would eventually figure out which motor has the highest Kv output and drive up the demand for that motor. So in most cases, the higher the motor's Kv gets, the more money it costs you to buy one. It's the whole "supply and demand" thing.
That said, 1 motor does make things easy!

Somebody once said "be careful about what you wish for." I purchased a Cirtix Stock Club race + Ultra Sportsman 25.5T motor Combo. I put the combo in my VTA to test it and found out my car was going much slower than before. I gave the motor to my roommate who was able to test it with his SkyRC BMC-01 Brushless Motor Checker. 25.5 motor.
