Any suggestions for a decent bump box for a truggy? I was looking at the ofna blue box 10024, anything else good around that price range?

Ofna 10244 is a great starter box for truggies.

As long as you get something w/ dual motors and you'll be fine.

If you want to go "all in" get a dual motor box and mate it w/ a 4S lipo like this one and add a low voltage buzzer to avoid the dreaded lipo puff.

I have two of the OFNA boxes, one for the Buggy and one for the Truugy. The 775 motors are great and when paired with a 4C LIPO it will start anything.

Can't go wrong IMHO...

I like the OFNA blue truggy box but I must have got the one lemon because it's a POS that has given me nothing but problems. I've rebuilt the entire thing yet it still has issues. I'm not trying to dissuade you from the blue OFNA, just venting my frustration that I have incessant issues with the "best" starter box out there.
I'm waiting for my new box to come in and can't race until it gets here.

Sounds good, what else would I need in addition to the limo? Could u recommend a charger and the low volt buzzer. I'm newer to nitro and have never had a lipo setup.

I have the 10244 truggy box and really like it.

You're really going to need to rewire ANY starter box you buy, and solder all the joints, none of the crap slide-on connectors. Also, the switch on any starter box is generally sub-par, considering switches really aren't designed to take a load.... I wired my box w/o the switch.

Brand X might be worth a try. It's got twin 775 motors. Probably a copy of the OFNA. $37

Any Lipo charger will work. The Dynamite Passport model is pretty easy to use and inexpensive.

I've been checking the market here, already bought an engine and im working on tires.
I'm not very adept at rewiring stuff, is this a must? I was hoping on just using some connectors.

Connector's = Resistance = Heat = Melted Wires If your not careful with a 4S 5000 and a Tight New motor.


Do you have any Buddy's who are into soldering or someone you know who might be able to show you the ropes ?

They guys at the lhs are pretty good, but if I'm buying it used I'm not sure of they'd be as helpful. I'm probably going to run a nimh first, then upgrade to the lipo when I'm ready to spend the extra money. My motor is a pullstart and the other is used, they are both broke in and aren't difficult to turn over. If I run a starter box without a lipo will it be sufficient?

Also anyone have any experience with the one suggested by nitro?
