Default Sorex Vs Takeoff

Just wondering how the takeoff CS27 compare to the sorex 24r for use on carpet?
traction and wear rate.
Any experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
Sam

pretty much what you would expect from the different compounds, the 24's will give more traction and the 27's will last longer.

so are they equally as good, in regards to wear and tear, as well as performance?

so you used them both and think Sorex are the better tires? I use Sorexs now, 32 and 36's but I keep hearing about the CS.

on carpet use either sorex, pit-shimezu, or yok 139's.

on asphalt sorex 36's work, hard pit's work, depends on the surface abrasion, surface material, and amount of rubber laid down

I really like take-off tires alot more than Sorex. I had a set of Sorex 36r's that lasted about 12 runs with sorex type a hard insert. The take-off 27's have given me almost 25 runs now, with the included medium insert, and in my opinion, have equal if not better grip than the 36r's. BTW if you want to try take-offs get the pre-glued ones that are mounted on the cross 15 spoke wheels, it saves you alot of time.

On carpet it takes alot of work to get the CS27 to work, and even then the sorex are a little faster.

I heard the CS27 is an excellant asfault tire though.

Sounds like i'll have to get some of the sorex tyres to try.

How about the 20r's? are they too soft?

The CS27 works very well outside, and the premounted tires can be had for about $35 for a set of four. They also work very well inside too. I did not experience having to wait several laps for them to come in at all during indoor use either. They worked immediately, but this result may be depend on your particular type of carpet. I was given a set in late 2001 to test indoors to give an opinion for this tire to possibly be the choice for the Florida State Series spec tire. A spec tire was not implemented.....however, a mid-season vote showed the racers had change of heart and the CS27 is now the spec tire for the 19t and modified classes. It turned out that many racers were using it anyhow. This tire will be used on asphalt and carpet as well. Hope some of this helps you out.
