I hope it is more readable the the display on the Dyna Pulse. I have a hard time reading the blue backlit screen on that one and actually prefer my Spintec over it at the moment. I only have the Dyna Pulse for v1 of the Spintec did not do 4 cell packs. I will get a new Spintec when they are available here.

I know this isn't the best question... but will we be able to upgrade the first version for the BM for a lesser price than buying a new one?

Yeti,

I had no trouble whatsoever reading the screen on the BatMan V2 in the bright sun of the worlds in Italy. The contrast is very good as you can see on the picture Victor posted.
The only 'drawback' is you don't see the red backlight

Upgrade? Well, I guess you could tear your 'old' BatMan apart and use the heatsink and wires to save about $5.

Looking at the specs of the new BM, does it mean the previous BM is not suitable for 4200's?

On the contrary, it works on all NiCd's and NiMH's.

But some new features have been added (not mentioned in TDO's post) where you can select different settings to suit your preference for your type of battery or discharge style.

Prototypes didn't have this enabled at the time of the worlds but will be so in the new release.

(look at the CC setting on the right of the 3rd line)

Got my V2 Spintec discharger today. Very nice. Same size as previous one but the LCD screen is dialed!! Red backlight and easy to read. 3 different types of discharge, 4-8 cells, 10 or 35 amps....Everything that guys complained about with the first one have been fixed plus some!! I'll be putting it through the EAM testing phase all this week and will report my findings....Which Im sure will be good
