I've seen a 3 port Nova Rossi in 1/8th GT competition that sells for $175 do a very nice job.

The BP735RT is a solid motor, or go for the 9 port version. http://www.bpengines.com/productsonroad21engines.html
The VOX V1 Tech is good too http://www.voxengines.com/en/products/OTTO-V1-TECH_10
Both are relatively inexpensive with good performance. I have used the tuned versions of both with good results. Other engines to look at are the RB Killer 10, or look at some of the other lower priced Picco based engines.

Good engine
You can get an S&H 8 port .21 for about 130 bucks off ebay. I've run a few of the SH motors and it's a heck of an engine for the money. They aren't tempermental, don't overheat, maintain a steady idle, deliver the power and sip the fuel. I can't speak for lots of other engines but I've found SH to be pretty much maintenance free and tons of bang for the buck. I typically crack my engines open when I get them...just to see if it's all good, and I've never found machining errors (slag, undrilled, uncleaned, slop fit, etc) and I have no idea how they are producing a motor like that for the money when lots of others cost so much but I'm not arguing with it, I'll stick with them until they do like the others and raise their prices to the ozone layer.
