Ran that body on my Delta Phaser in the early eighties (at the regionals in Austin, TX). When will the new one be available???

I never knew the Schkee was a real car. Alway thought it was just something made for RC only. Thanks for that piece of history.

I remember these being available in a 1/10th scale version from Bolink for the Invader.

I have to say, you could put some big and chunky electronics under that body. Like a full-size 2s saddle pack or something to that effect. That was a must and not a luxury when it was made, I bet.

Right now. On the first page, the image of the clear body is "clickable", takes you to the bodys.

Default ah the memories

Hi Bob, had to dig, but found this box of bodies I used to run with my brother and my racing buddy a few years back, around 1978~79 I think. We all just got back into R/C a few years ago. I wish a few more of these could be be brought back to life. Some of the paint jobs from the era as well. forgot the name of the first and third one, uh oh, the mind is going... I'll have to see if I can find Bob Welch and see if he has any of the molds hidden away.

-Alex

thanks for the brain jolt Steve.

Hey Alex, could that body be the MRP Frisbee maybe????

Bob,

Do you guys happen to have any of the 1/12th scale lexan drivers that we old dudes used to be required to run? I would love to buy a few of them.

Default painted Schkee

Well, for the guys that wanted to see one painted, I'm not a pro painter or anything, but I whipped this out with some foof cans. In what I think might pass for an older "style" paint job. Cars were hand counted and you wanted your numbers big. These were Associated 1/8 gas numbers. Bigger tires, larger trimmed out areas. Looks about right. Was fun to do.

I'll take some better pictures in a day or two. I'm thinking they'll end up on the site in the part number. Always more fun to see things painted.

here's a few better ones. You know what was cool? I had it sitting on the counter. left for about 20 minutes, came back in, and for a split second, asking myself, "when did I get that"? Tricked myself into thinking I had some new car.

My apologies for the "enthusiastic" amount of posts. I'm having a good time.

I give you a solid "10" in the "period appropriate" category.

This was the body all of us ran on the Jomac team in the 80's. We would also cut out the top and also fold in the sides behind the front wheels like the real car. Those were the days of 6 cells and wiper arm speed controls. What fun.

Awesome paint! As a newbie to the 1/12 scale world is there any reason this wouldn't fit a newer chassis and would it be competitive aerodynamically? Even if it isn't would make a great shelf queen. Great work!
