Do you guys leave all components in when you clean? Or say should I take it apart ever so often and clean it throughly?

Depends on how obsessive you are. There are guys that will tear down their kit after every race to clean it top to bottom. It is a good idea to tear down every few races for a thorough cleaning. Doing this will also give you a chance to check over your kit for loose or worn stuff.
