Yep.. and when you have the glow plug out...

Do the following...

1) Crank over the engine and see if fuel A) Gushes, B) Mists or C) No sogn of fuel at all

A) Flooded engine

i) Too much Idle - Should be no more than 1mm gap on a small block engine
ii) Your bottom needle is too rich
iii) There's nothing wrong at all, your plug is dead and you flooded it, proceed to keep turning over engine without plug in and clear the plug. See B)

B) Misty mixture, perhaps a little rich but fuel mix ok. - Check plug

i) Inspect plug, coil should be shiny and complete.
ii) Put on a glow start and inspect glow if low it's cold, if bright it's hotter.
iii) Secure plug.

c) No Fuel

i) no fuel pressure from exhaust - check pressure lines
ii) no fuel from tank, check filters, fuel line
iii) Tank seal bad, leaking fuel pressure, leaky bad nipples, cracked tank.
iii) Check Carby idle settings - 1mm is usually a good starting point.
iiii) Check bottom needle [idle fuel pressure/mix]. Turn anti clockwise 1/4 turn
iiiii) Check top needle [overall fuel pressure/mix] - Turn anticlockwise 1/2 turn.
