Default 3PK / HRS servo recommendations?

I just got a 3PK / HRS and am shopping for servos for my two TC3s to work with the HRS receiver.

Futaba's website recommends the S9451 and S9550. Tower Hobbies' website lists the Hitec HS-5925MG and HS-77 as equivalents. Hitec just came out with a new digital servo with titanium gears, the HSC-5996TG.

What servos are you guys successfully using with 3PK HRS setups?

Thanks,

Bill

I haven't had good luck with Hitec digitals and their centering capabilities. I currently run a JR 8450, and will get their next servo, the 8800 shortly. I also run the 3PK, HRS receiver, in a TC3.

I agree 110% w/ TC3 Maniac, Hitec servos are piles, work great for a few weeks and slowly youll notice that it wont recenter as well, and then after a bit longer you turn left and the car keeps goin left. Super tough w/ a foam car on high bit carpet.

Im now running the KO Propo PDS 2362, digital w/ my 3PK on HRS, and it works flawlessly and is quick The pricetag was alittle high but worth it in the long run.

Just my 2cents

I have S9550 servos in all my touring cars with HRS mode. Just awesome. Love'm. Good price and performance. If ya wanna spend alittle extra, Airtronics and KO have awesome servo's as well. And I too don't like Hitec's as a steering servo for that same reason about their centering (or lack there of) abilities.

Default swervo

I like the KO Propo pds-2343 because you can use a 4-40 screw to bolt on your servo saver. No more looking for that one right screw that works for you metal gear servo.

Default Futaba 9450 vs. 9451?

Besides the specs, does anyone know the differences between these two digital servos and how they would compare for use with a 3PK?

Thanks,

Bill

I think the 9450 is now discontinued and replaced by the 9451.

Yes, but you have to change the modulation mode on the radio to HRS. Don't know if it will work in PCM mode but if it did you would lose the speed advantage.

We have used the 3PK's on our 5th and now 10th scales with mixtures of Hitec Jumbo for steering, but both 8411 from JR and the 2343 from KO. ANY Digital Servo will work with the 3PK. It is only when you are running in HRS mode that you must have digital servos. Before changing from PCM we were running Airtronics 358's analog mixed with the Hitec steering servos.

The 3PK will operate in PCM,HRS, and PPM...... you must have the matching trans/recv. If you use the spectrum module you must run PPM.

The ONLY HITEC servo we have any luck with is the new digital Jumbos. Other than that I agree the other Hitec’s are piles.... they never return to center, and I have never seen them last for very long.

my 2 cents worth............
