Default Looking for more top end!

I have a 10tt with SW 3800 4 pole/14t pinion/2s 5000 40c. It has crazy bottom and ok top. My question is how much more top end would I gain moving up to a 4600 4 pole? Would I loose alot of bottom doing this? Or should I just go up a few teeth on the pinion and stay with the 3800?

Check your motor temp, if not heating up after several minutes of running, gear up on pinion.

Default 4 Pole Motor Gearing

I have found with some of the newer 4-pole motors that you can add more gear then you think you could because they have a different power band than 2 pole motors. But this can come at a price. They are so much more effecent that you can gear them to the point were the motor still is not hot but you could be overworking your speedo depending on the esc's capacity.

So you will most likely see more power overall as you gear up but go a tooth at a time and check esc and motor temps often.

Thanks for your replies. I can run nonstop for a whole 5000mah pak and the hottest my temps get is 100 motor/115 esc. So I think I have some room to go up to 15t or 16t. 17t might push it but I could throw the fan on the esc. I have all three on the way so i'll see.
