I would not go to company that just makes hinge pins for the car. They will just make them to the size in the kit. You need to go up in size from the kit, not a lot just enough to be able to ream them to the correct size. Go to McMaster Carr and look at the reams, and then find the correct drill rod to use.

Get the kit and make that one change and you should be on your way. Shock oil, Diff Lube are the easy tuning items. Once you get a feel for the car there are some shock changes that can help, but I've seen guys win with pretty much the stock kit on the nitro side.

Oh also get some Sweep tires, slicks for permant tracks or treaded for temporary lots or street running. (not sponsered by them, they just work)

If you need parts or help ..... Bill @ IGT Hobbies

Boostin250X - Cool car build, should be fast & fun! Interesting see thru paint job, please try to pick up a form fitting front bumper, they really help a lot.

Couple of questions
1) What spur gears are you guys using in order to fit larger pinions?

2) I just ordered the Calsonic body along with the decal kit. I noticed the decal kit has the "calsonic" blue in it. Does anyone know what blue is used or best matches?

One more question. What benefit does the stand up shocks provide up front? I noticed SNR makes CF shock towers that stands up the front shocks.

Default Which Castle Combo?

Just got mine today. Got a great deal from Amain... with a $25 coupon, I got it for $235 shipped and a free t-shirt!

Anyway, I am struggle with the decision of what ESC/Motor combo to go with. I am set on Castle, as that is what I have in my other car and love it.

Should I get the 2200 or the 2650 combo?

I don't plan on racing it and will mostly just play in parking lots and run it up and down my streat.

Thoughts?

omalley72, I'm using a center diff. My car is setup for racing, so I don't really care for top speed (have a xo1 on order for that ). With the center diff I can fit a max pinion of 22T.

ml8163, For parking lot bashing and speed runs get the 2650kv combo. I have one for sale if you need.

STRC are not doing any pins for the Ofna.
Check out nitrohouse for upgrades. There's a few. Also, IGT Hobbies, SNR and Max Velocity.

The front stand up shock tower give the car more stability and easier suspension adjustment.
