I will be posting the spec tire this weekend. Probably start a new thread and link it to this one. That way the first post has all the track/race info and I can update it as new info comes in. I'll be sure to post in here as well pointing to the new thread. Not far behind the spec tire announcement will be the dates for the warm up.

Plus it's such a waste of time to only run 2 quals each day so running them all on sat and mains sun is much more efficient. I might be able to sneak away for this one. Hopefully the asphalt nats follow the same schedule. Good job guys!

This totally warmed my heart Fred!

Can't wait to show you around my stomping grounds!

i kinda like it as well. being close to my kids spring break, the shortened race schedule will make it easier to justify. just might have to take a trip.

Default Nationals

I am hoping to come out and very interested in what classes will be.

Here are the numbers for the 2011 Roar Carpet Nats at Timezone. Roughly 200 entries and I believe 25 or so heats. I think it was about 135 or so people.

37 World GT
35 13.5 1/12th scales
27 17.5 1/12th scales
13 Mod 1/12th scales
39 17.5 Touring Sedan
16 21.5 Touring Sedan
26 Mod Touring Sedan

That's 200 cars, bodies, and batteries that have to got through tech and about 160 motors that have to be taken apart and teched.

My only concern with the one day of practice would be getting so many people through ROAR tech in one day.

All my previous experience with ROAR Nationals has been fuel on-road....

What is the usual procedure for tech at the electric Nats? Do they tech all cars on the practice day? Or before each heat on the day of quals?

How much practice time would you estimate to be available on that Friday? And will it be heat style practice? Or just controlled with X mins per class/car type?

The first day of practice will be Friday March 16th.
Qualifiers will be held Saturday March 17th.
Mains will be held Sunday March 18th.

I am really hoping I will be able to post classes in the next 10 days.

I love the new schedule. Makes this race easier for everyone to attend. Hopefully the turnout will be awesome.

See ya in a few months.

Very good point Troy!!!! The only down side to the 2011 nats was the time spent in long tech lines!! Is there any way ROAR can get the tech line going on thursday for those who show up early and then maybe able to accomodate the rest of the crowd on friday? Another idea would be for the handout tires to be pre stickered as to speed up the line? Just a couple of ideas to throw around. Can't wait to get there!! 2011 nats was AWESOME!!!!

Does anybody know the link for 2011 Roar Rules Handbook so I can get an idea of what a 12th scale's minimum weight limit is and the other information for that class? I went to the site, but 2010 Hadbook is still being posted.

This looks like it will be an interesting turn out after all.

I've created a new thread here

http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...l#post10023457

Our spec tire is announced there, and in short time the classes will be listed there as well.

Looking forward to lots of great racing!
