I'm screwed right??
just bought a great vigor .15hp nitro car and put it to use for the first time
wasn't sure what settings the previous owner had had the engine at so returned it to stock as the manual and video said..
played for a bit was running really slow, leaned it out just a little and performance picked up well! anyway, hit a rock on the road and the batter cover flew off, and the servo batteries fell out, lost control of the car from then and it hit a gutter causing the exhaust pipe to fall off..
it then revved to the shithouse and i couldn't stop it in time before it reved HEAPS and then just stopped...
is my motor blown?

that doesnt sound very good at all, I'd check to see if the engine still turns over and has compression, but from what you describe at best you have shortened its life dramatically, I suggest purchasing a failsafe to prevent such a thing from happening again as part of your repairs of course

sorry but im very much the newbie and haven;t been able to find very many articles on how to set up the car etc..
what is a fail safe?

a failsafe is a device that monitors for power failure and if so happens will set your servos to neutral, thus preventing the "shoot off and hit the gutter" bit

hrmm well good news is it still starts etc but the tune is seriously out of wack
will try and get one my my r/c mates to help me tune it so i can get a good balance between idle, slow and high speed... at the moment it will only do one or the other...
