I run on asphalt with boral coat, medium grip. I haven't had a chance to run at my local track again due to bad weather. Hopefully I'll get it there this week.

I race a t3 11 but i have changed to the 12 camber mounts on the car. I race 17.5 blinky my problem is the car gets into the corner very fast without stepping out. In hairpins the car has real nice rotation but in the small to medium sweepers it has push that slows the lap time. I am losing too much speed to the other cars I run with. The track is a large sealed asphalt surface 120x70)that is bumpy we spray it with soda to improve the grip! I know I have no setup info posted but in general what can I do. I made one change for the up coming race to help with my push in power I hope,I just installed a ball diff in the front to stop this push on power. I am not a point an shoot racer so I need the car to rotate in the middle and exit of the corner to drive the car like I need it to be for me to drive it. I hope you can help me I am turning consistent laps just slow by .4

On power push is caused by having too much weight transfer towards the rear of the car, and is also more noticable at high speed. The first changes I usually make in this situation are to lessen my front droop (or raise my downstops), go to a harder rear spring, or for a more subtle adjustment than a spring change, just move the upper rear shock position outwards on the tower.

Not knowing what your setup is exactly, it's tough to say what else could be adjusted, but I wouldn't be running that front ball diff. While it might help a bit through (or at least entering) those fast sweepers, it's probably hurting your ability to get good drive off of the corner, and making you lose more time exiting hairpins and lower speed corners.

What shims/spacers do you have on the front and rear upper camber links? What holes are the camber links in?

Hi,

I'm trying to get a ratio near to 5 and I'm using 78T/48p offset spur gear with 31T pinion gear. I have assembled it in the correct position according the instructions manual, but the pinion gear is touching the long belt. I have tried different pinion brands with the same result.

Does anyone know how I could fix it?

Thanks.

Best regards.

The front belt should be on the side away from the motor and the rear on the side towards the motor ( from spur gear in middle ) Is that the way you have it? Also which way is the offset pointing?

Hi, thanks for your reply.

Yes, I it's the way I have the belts installed and the gear's offset is pointing away the motor, I mean the flat side of the gear in the side of the rear belt with the head of the 3 screws.

Excuse me for my english.

Best regards.

The screws should be pointed towards the motor like you have. A picture would help a lot here. I just looked over my car, and unless the pinion is installed incorrectly there should be plenty of clearance.

Ok, there are some pics:

Flat side of the spur gear can`t be appreciated very well, but it is in the side of the rear belt , like the manual says.

Thanks.

At first I thought maybe that was not an offset spur. Then I checked the one that comes in my kit and the 48p spurs do not have much if any offset. On my 64p gear, the long belt side had .5mm of depth and 2.00mm of depth on the short belt side. The 48p I have was 1.43mm and 1.59mm. Try flipping just the spur around.

Something just doesn't appear right. Even your belts aren't centered on the pullys very well.

move the pinion closer to the motor. it doesn't need to be flush to the spur. cover about 3/4 of the spur w/ the pinion, and you'll be fine, i.e move the pinion closer to the middle of the space of the top plate

The part I'm using is #305778 and have 0.22mm/2.20mm offset side by side. In the pictures the belts seems to be unaligned, but when they are rolling all seems to be fine and centered. On the other hand I'm a newbie in the RC so it can be my fault, but the car was working very well last days with the 84T spur gear and I dind't changed any more parts today.

I'm seeing that some Xray pinion gears are called narrow pinion gear, are this narrow pinion gears needed to use the offset spur gears?

That is a fat pinion gear, just move it like Big said. Order you some CRC Gold Standard pinions, they are narrower than the one you have there

Agreed
I have had this before, you will need to loosen off the motor screws, or take them out, tilt the motor at 45 degrees, then mount the pinion as far in as possible. You will not be able to access the grub screw from the top or bottom after the motor is installed, which is why you have to mount the pinion before mounting the motor.

At the begining of the day the gear diff made the car drive able.
I really on the edge of retiring this car to my UGT car now I race T2 007 that works real well on low power and is almost as fast as my T3 17.5.
Our track may have one hairpin the rest of the track is combo sweepers that flow from corner to corner so if you are wide in one corner you are slow in the next. The track is all about car positioning I 'm a pretty good driver and drive the as fast as it will go on the correct line. Once again thanks for the suggestions. My friend and I are the only one's driving xray's in a sea of T6 cars we both have won races but it is when the competition makes a mistake not with speed we don;t set fast lap time of the day really have to drive with no margin for error where the competition can make mistakes in traffic and still kill us.
