Go a question about the Victor chargers with the IQ3000 firmware. When you cycle/computer grade a pack on the Victor is there a way to set the delta drop (or stop drop in Victor terms)? I don't see the option to do this. When I am just charging with the NIMH profile, it lets me set the delta drop down to 0.001v. I am cycling 4 cell GP3300 packs.

The Victor chargers and the Pro Trak Chargers are not related in any way, the similarity you see is just in the keyboard and the screen which are off the shelf electronic parts that are used all over the industry. Pro Trak has been around for at least 10 years and has been developed from scratch.

I've heard this one a few times, other than a few cosmetic similarities, there are no other ties.

i have a cdr-5k and a protrak and both are sweet. IMO the cdr is a hopped up protrak. both charge so well and both can give the same data.

all out
bottom line if you have the budget you should go for em (protrak,cdr5k,gfx). you cant go wrong with any of these chargers.

mid budget
one more thing as long as you purchase a charger fom a big name company(novak, lrp, integy, etc.) youll be fine.

I've been playing around with the Victor some. Even though the IQ3000 has the delta drop setting in the charge mode, it doesn't have it in the cycle/computer grading mode. It must have a preset value based on the number of cells you tell it you are cycling. For a 4 cell pack it would let the voltage drop ~0.04v before it peaked. This is way to high. So I told the charger I was cycling 2 cells and the delta drop was more appropriate for NIHM cells (~0.02v).

While the above solution is workable, it is kind of annoying considering the IQ3000 chargers were sold as NIMH compatible. I wish I could find the original source code to the IQ3000 firmware. Seems like it would be pretty easy to add in the delta drop feature for cycling.
